Got a peek last week at a peak. Mt St Helens while riding logging roads above Scappoose.
Just got foot surgery done yesterday to remove 7 pins and a plate from my left foot (following a break 2 years ago), so memories like this ride will have to sustain me for the next month or so while the swelling goes down. Or, ya know, I could start dreaming up a new impractical bike build for myself and begin collecting parts with money I don't have. Yeah...that sounds about right.

Randy Andy Kaufman sticker on a junction box in the parking lot of the MFA in Boston. Note the careful placement and alignment...

Only one other fella and I showed up for this morning's club ride, we decided to take a random route new to both of us, no real idea what we would run into along the way. We were rewarded with two paleontological finds, dinosaurs of different types.

Smashed baseball. Found in the middle of the road and guess it was not done with a bicycle.

Belgium has a long and rich history when it comes to bicycle racing and bicycle manufacturing. At the Retroronde van Vlaanderen, a few years ago, I found out that not only their bike frames are available in many different sizes:

I found this in the road at a stop light. Makes you wonder if they even know it's gone.

I was at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA yesterday and found this in the parking garage. Another row of bike lockers were on the other side. Nice to see.

I like it. Picked it up locally for ~$45, so a bit more expensive than the pedestrian/utilitarian foam tape, but looking cool ain't cheap.
It's padded with just enough friction in the fabric, and SUPER LONG. I was able to wrap both sides of a 50cm Cowchipper handlebar plus cover almost the entire toptupe for bump protection.

Festival of Balloons, Tigard Oregon
Saw this on my commute to work. A third of my route is on a MUP, I saw the top of this balloon peaking over some trees. It was a short detour to get to the launch zone. I was maybe 50 yards from it, setting up my bike with a helmet kickstand when I looked up and saw it starting to climb! First time I'd been near a hot air balloon at launch.

They used to launch from the school near our house all the time. Kind of freaky because you hear the gas burner jets off and on and then this big orb rises from beyond the trees. Few things will freak a dog out like a hot air balloon. My wife got me a balloon ride for my 40th birthday. Can’t say I really enjoyed it; I was pretty sure I was going to fall out.
