Michelin quality control issues?
Today I had to ( for the second time) replace a Michelin Power Road tubeless 32 as it wouldn’t hold air and upon close inspection was showing cracking. These tires are not even 6 months old😳
I purchased each set at a different time from different sellers so don’t think it’s a “one off” issue. Went back to GP5000’s.
Anyone else having similar problems?

I rode a pair of Power Road tubeless 25mm the back half of last season, and still have them on my backup wheels. The rear has started to square off, but their condition is otherwise perfect, which is to say there is no cracking.
I never liked Power Roads, but I cannot say it’s because of quality control problems. I particularly disliked the ride feel, which I found overly harsh.
I switched to the Power Cup TLR model this past spring, and those are excellent. Michelin seem to have improved on Power Road in every way with the Power Cup. Stunning grip in wet/cold and dry/warm conditions, and they feel silky.
Can’t see much perhaps, but here’s that rear Power Road:

Michelin always offered good tires, I find them more harsh than Contis but still very good handling and high quality tires.

When did Michelin start making that model? Sounds to me like they've been sitting in warehouses for a while, or stored next to a refrigerator for a shorter while.

Scrolling through pics today, I came across this one from 11 or 12 years ago, Michelin Pro Optimum Race. I didn’t like the feel of those either, though in those days I weighed less but ran higher PSI, like +100psi by a good margin.
No problems, per se, with those, but lightyears from the excellent, new, Power Cup TLR tires.

I have been having issues with Michelin tyres. I was running Power Road Tubeless 28mm and the tread of the tyres started cracking an separating from the sidewall. This happened on two or three different tyres. Once the Michelines are done, I will no be buying any more. There are some photos over in the recommended road tubeless thread (I think that is what it is called) over on the Roadies forum.
