1975 (I think) Super Mondia
Last year I traded a couple of bottles of wine for this Super Mondia, which I got from the original owner. It had been in his basement for years, and this past Sunday I finally got around to replacing its 25 year old 700x23 Specialized Ultralights with some 700x32 Schwalbes. It rides beautifully, but I’m leaning toward replacing the stem with one a little taller with a longer reach.

What a beauty! Especially the paint transitions, lug lining, and other details around the head tube, the seat tube, fork crown and fork legs! Can you post a few closeup pictures of these areas? We need to see more of this stunning bike.

nice trade! Assuming these were not bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1945 (or similar), but it's worth much more than a couple bottles of the plonk I buy!

wonderful date as it is just pre-CPSC
there appears to be a transfer at the front of the top tube which reads "Jag", is that correct?

These are very nice bikes . I have a 1973 Special with red , white , black fade . They can take pretty wide tires if that's your preference . Very well made IMHO

I will agree with Kabuki12, Mondias are often overlooked and under rater......you have a very nice example.

The serial number is stamped into the top of the left chainstay. No transfer, just some poorly applied touch up paint.

yep , if you go on Classic Rendezvous Mondia registry you can come up with a pretty good year estimate. Also register your bike , Dale will update the page to include your bike.
