Tommasini Super Prestige

Looks fantastic and I bet it rides even better. The group, the tires, the saddle, the bar tape...even the position of the hoods are all perfect. Only issue I see is it looks about 3-4cm too big!

Awesome build, many happy miles to you.

If it were a few cm taller he may not have gotten it back

Not yet finished but almost there! Think I need longer rear derailer cable, and new hoods are on the way. Stickers not done yet.

Thanks so much!

This was such a fun project.

Casey spoiled me rotten with this one.

I'll take decent pics on her maiden voyage and finish up the original thread at that time.

I wouldn't blame you.

These are special riders for sure.

I love the look of the wheelset, just wish they were more user friendly for my arthritis hobbled hands at this point.

I tried three different tire combos on these and they were all way beyond challenging for tire installation.

I had some handmade Pariba clinchers and Zonda wheels, which proved to be a bear to install. These campy rims are a beast, but thanks to a 10$ tire jack I could get them on just fine. I since then got weak and lazy, I never install tires anymore without them and I don't mind having the jack strapped to my pump in a jersey pocket. google pic.

Thanks for the tip!

Yes, the Koolstop jack is a great tool.

I have one up at our cabin in the workshop, but that's four hours from here.

Unfortuately, the road in is still under two feet of snow.

Here's my bike, just finished it. I'm hoping to take some better shots in the next week or two.

It's a SOMEC Lugo Di Romagna in Columbus tubing, with a rifled seattube, so I think it's SLX, but no sticker. The seat cluster is very cool and some great pantographing. I've built it with Campagnolo Record 10 speed components, not period correct! I think the frame is from about 1986.
Frame / Size / Year:
SOMEC Lugo Di Romagna, 59cm, Mid-late 1980's, Columbus SLX

Handlebars / Stem:
Soma Highway One, Cinelli Grammo titanium

Fork / Headset:
Somec, Campagnolo Record

Wheels / Tyres:
Campagnolo Vento 16HPW, Veloflex

Crankset / Bottom Bracket:
Campagnolo Record, Campagnolo Record

Saddle / Seat Post:
Selle Italia Flite, Campagnolo aero (Athena maybe?)

Pedals / Chain:
Look Keo Classic, Shimano 105 (whoops!)

Shifters / Derailers:
Campagnolo Record

Brakes / Brake Levers:
Campagnolo Record

Gearing / Chainring / Misc.:
53-39, 11-23, 10 Speed

My kind of build.

I may have a new favorite!

Excellent build that deserves its own thread, welcome aboard.

Yep, ditto. I have some red decals for those wheels, if you ever get the urge to change.

1984 Basso Gap; completely Shimano 6700; 6750 compact crank, 6700 brifters, derailleurs, cassette and wheelset. Velo Orange Grand Cru setback post and retro Dura-Ace 7400 skewers.

Apologies for not the highest quality pic. Still dialing in loading pics and how much resolution I can post. This build is incomplete. I'm going to replace the FSA handlebar and stem with a matched 3TTT handlebar and stem set in anodized gunmetal. Also, not sold on the red tape. It was what I had on hand and sort of went with the FSA graphics and created a red/white/blue theme. It may be I'll go with white tape once that happens.

Here is my 1897 Panasonic DX-4000. I've had it with 7 speed STI for a while, I just never took a photo. I rode it in the BP MS150 this past weekend. I love the way she rides.

A 1987 Panasonic DX-4000 was my first bike (or maybe it was a 3000, either way... black and yellow) and i sold it to buy my Centurion Ironman (in this thread somewhere)! Good to see yours with new life!
