Can you bend it?
I just got back from the store and my load shifted in the front basket. (Wald) It bent backwards 30 degrees. Can it be bent back to it's normal shape without harm? It looks ok but I never bent a basket so I thought I would ask this list first.

There's a good chance you can bend it back. There's an even better chance that the next time you overload the basket like that it'll bend again. How much did you load into it?

If this was a rear rack, I'd say straighten it and go. I know someone who had a minor mishap with a handlebar bag (cause never found) and damaged her jaw and teeth. Surgery corrected that but her ability to play a clean note on a flute never returned.

It is the basket part. I guess it's Aluminum. I had about 20+lbs in when the load shifted. A case of soda did the job. Now my question is, it safe to ride or should I junk it?

can you post a pic? I have never seen a Wald basket that wasn't galvanized steel, which is very bendable. As you have found out.

Camera on the phone is junk. I was thinking of scaping the basket as it bent backwards (again.) after the last shopping trip. I think it's a Wald 186 (???).
