What do you pay for Powdercoating?
For those who have had their frames repainted at the powdercoater, what did it cost you?

In July, I paid $275 for a single color + gloss coat in northern CA, arranged by the bike's builder.

ranges from 50 to 300 USd.
I would pay a half bottle of vodka that I found in the dumpster for a common-solid-semi gloss color.
A two stage process & using a good urethane paint is what I'd opt for.

The guy that does my frames charges between $100 and $150 to blast/strip and powder coat. The price depends on how many coats of powder the color requires. Any translucent colors require a chrome or silver base under the color.

$140 for blast, cleaning, coating, and the actual powder. This was for a frame and fork.
The powder was a sparkle purple.

I recently sent a frame set to a local guy that paints bikes as a side-gig, paid $120 (+ paints which I had to source) for a 2 color fade on a steel frame, including sand blasting. He took about 3 weeks to do the job.

$150usd for everything but the powder.
$64usd for 3 lbs of metal-flake powder that had to be ordered (not a stock hue). No clearcoat needed for this particular variety.
$150 + $64 = $214usd.
Frame/fork done in August 2021 at Sandblast America in Manassas, Virginia.
Very satisfied with the result.

$275 for one color about a year ago + $75 for a second color, in Santa Fe. Included blasting and prep.

Ok, thank you for the input on what y'all have paid. I can see that pricing varies quite a bit based upon a few factors. I'd like to get a frame done but it isn't a "keeper" type and thus do not want to drop a tonne of money on it. It'd be a bummer to spend $$$ on frame painting only to have it snap (as the last 3 have done).

My go to guy now is Flashfire Coatings in Courtice Ontario. $150 Canadian to media blast and coat one colour.
He does the best job of any I have tried.
