trying to indentfy a 1970's bmx bike

Back in the late 70's there was a bmx bike that had a rectanglar top bar and a thought it was called a "Stroker" it was one of the top-of -line bmx bikes along with Webco. I can't find reference to this name anywhere, am I mistaken about the name? Does anyone remember the bike? It did in fact have a rectanglar top bar, that much I do know.

I wish, going on memory only. I thought it might be a torker because I did remember a Stroker II and torker did have a torker II. But the rectangular top bar doesn't match any torker I have seen. I was too young to even ride one, but all the cool older kids had one or a Webco. My older brother was a dork and he rode a Schwinn Lemon Peeler.

Does he still have the Krate? That's worth WAY more than any Torker right now. Mint Krates can hit upwards of $1,000, although the Lemon Peeler was the most common color I believe.

Thanks, I found it at this link you gave me. It was in fact a Stroker and the Super Stroker. And My brother does not still have it. My mom liked to throw old stuff away (reguardless of who's property it was). She gave away my old 1960's Gordie Smith surfboard, all my 60's matchbox limited edition die cast cars, all my 70's Star Wars toys.

That was my dad too... All of my old slot cars and Stingray parts, my Bahne skateboard... And my '70s Plastic Fantastic surfboard! Either trash or Salvation Army. Guess I went the other direction; I save everything... Won't let my kids throw anything away! BTW- I also lived in HB back then - Hamilton/Bushard.... Used to ride/hang out in Sheep Hills (Costa Mesa border).

I had a buddy with a Super Stroker, they were pretty cool. But in the late 70's the Mongoose with motomags was THE bike to have. If you modded it with a Tufneck gooseneck, checkered pads and a numberplate covered with stickers you were the man. The Redline was almost on the same level.

I seem to remember the brand name was "Two Wheeler" and the model was "Stroker". I had a couple of buddies that rode them (I was a Webco, and Redline guy ).

Cheers,
Chris

Motomags and Super Strokers were pretty tough to hang onto when everyone else at the track was riding Kuwahara, GT, Hutch, Schwinn Sting or PK Ripper - bikes that weighed about five pounds less.

Early Mongoose bikes also had no clearance - so power jumping was an adventure. It didn't help that the further up the semi-horizontal dropouts you got the back wheel, the worse the clearance problem became

Mongoose eventually fixed everything when they brought out the Supergoose. 4130 was in all tubes (not just three). Dropouts were truly horizontal, and there were no heavy BMX Products aluminum mag wheels to be found anywhere.
