Be aware. It's pretty beat up and has a sizeable dent in top tube. Also potential rust issues as the top tube guides are rusty. Likely rust elsewhere as well. Not bad if you want to put a lot of work into it though.

If I hadn't just gotten a 24" sky blue Pro Tour, I'd have been all over this. If you're local, they've been advertising it as $150 BIN + $150 shipping. I'm sure you could get it for the $150 if you could pick it up.
As for the condition, It doesn't look like the exposed chrome has more than a few bits of rust. It should clean up pretty well. Those cable clamps have very poor chrome, so that bit of rust doesn't necessarily mean much else will be rusty. The chroming on these Centurions wasn't always that great, so it's rare to find one without some pitting. (At least the mid-late 70's. The 80s ones seem to have better chrome.) The dent in the top tube isn't that bad either. Since the paint is pretty tired, you could probably use some frame blocks to roll out most of that dent. You'd be looking at a repaint, but a bike like this might justify it.

Agreed on the condition but these are great bikes. I sold a newer model one before my move from Olympia, WA. Mine was in very high mileage condition when I got it, then it was my Winter rain bike commuter for 10 years, yet even then, it was in better overall condition than this one and it had a relatively new wheelset. Don

I've had my eye on this bike for a while now, but just haven't been able to come up with the extra cash for it 
It kills me to see one of my dream bikes at such an affordable price, yet I still can't afford it lol. It does look a little rough, but I would love the chance to clean her back up! It's been a slow winter for me though unfortunately.

As far as rough goes, that frame is fully chromed underneath. Look closely, the paints kinda chewed up, but ain't no rust underneath. If I'm not mistaken, someone on the forum stripped all the paint off of a Pro Tour, polished it up, and looked damn nice. I have a 24" one waiting for me to do something with it, and that's my plan. You can see yourself in the reflection off of the chromed lugs.
Yeah, it's got a ding. I think I could live with that as a war wound.
I'm tempted to buy it myself, but the shop is pretty full right now...

I didn't mean they weren't smooth or well polished. They certainly were. I mean in terms of it's corrosion resistance, and general state after 30-40 years. It just seems that many / most that I've run across in person or on-line have at least some pitting and corrosion spotting, all the way up to quite a bit of rust. That doesn't happen to all chrome -- it's a function of how good the underlying nickel layers are, as well as the chrome topcoat. Any microscopic defects let galvanic corrosion go to town. Some bike brands, and a lot of automotive chrome tends to hold up very well. Many, if not most of the chroming on bikes tended to be very low quality. That, compounded by often poor storage, and you get a lot of rust and freckling. Some, like older Paramounts seem to hold up very well.

You need to do lots of scrolling. I just use the brand and model name. Like Bianch Super Leggera or some variation of it. Other times I'all just search a tubing brand and type and my size. Sometimes using a variation of brand name can yield results especially on CL searches. Beeanchi or Fiji work sometimes.

I've seen Pro Tour frames with centerpull posts go for right around that. Granted, the were in better shape, but there won't be any rust on the frame. The Cyclone rear derailleurs fetch a good price on eBay. The Sanshin hubs were some of the smoothest ever made.

Sold the 1984, it was my first adult bike purchased in 1985, owned almost 30 years, no regrets. I no longer consider any serious touring.

I think you and I just prefer different types of bikes. And that's OK. My collection lacks the diversity of so many others. I have moved beyond 23mm tires, but still prefer 700c bikes with no racks, no bags, no eyelets.
edit: the AD has eyelets and is the wet bike with fenders.

I had thought of buying this one, but also balked because of the TT dent. I still think it's a decent bike and would make a great rider at $260, but I just purchased a 1988 Miyata 615, so I'm full-up on classic touring bikes for now.
