1977 Volare Frame and Fork in good shape even trade for comparable Paramount?
I might consider trading my 1977 Pearlescent Orange Schwinn Volare frame and fork for a Schwinn Paramount of similar vintage due to it being just a bit too big.
My bike can be viewed here:

Would you consider this to be an even trade for a Paramount frame and fork with headset?
Thanks!
Terry

I would venture the opinion that a genuine Paramount of the same condition and era would be considered more valuable in commercial terms than your Volare.
In no way is that derogatory toward your bike. I think it's a beauty. I'd like to own it. I just wouldn't trade my Paramount for it.

It might help if you told folks exactly what size it is, and what size you're looking for. It's a beauty, that's sure.

When both a Paramount and a Volare were new a Paramount cost roughly double what the Volare did. I doubt you will get the frames traded. Oh I forgot Volare's don't have Nervex lugs. Roger

I'd give my right testicle to be as tall then I would buy it from you and your problem would be solved. Too tall for my short legs. Everytime I see that bike it makes me more determined to get mine powdercoated orange and put the decals I have on it.

If Beekgeek's Volare were a 23-24" frame, I'd consider a trade for my 25" P-13's frameset. Call it C&V good will.

My Volare is too small and I need a 23" too
I finally have my 21" Volare up to riding condition again. I found the correct shifters, front and rear derailleurs, and derailleur cable guide. I couldn't find the lower clamp cradles for the two bolt seat post, so I just bought a NOS SR Sakae one bolt seatpost. I also could not find a wheelset with high flange Dura Ace hubs, so I went for the next best thing, low flange 1975 Campy Record hubs with Super Champion Competition tubular rims. They had a couple of bent spokes, the LBS replaced them, trued both wheels and glued on my inexpensive Clement sew-ups for $60.

Good luck finding them to trade. I have spent the last year or so looking for them to get Dura-ace parts and they are extremely hard to find. I only know of about 6 of them online, but there could always be sleepers.
I figured someone who appreciates handmade Schwinns would realize they are harder to find than Paramounts. I'll just keep it and ride it.
Thanks!

I'm your guy - if I had a Paramount frame to trade, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I don't at the moment, however. I also think the Volare gets some of its Schwinn mojo from the build, so I'd strongly prefer a complete bike. I'd trade a complete Paramount straight up for a complete Volare from the same year, again, because the Volare is indeed rare, and Paramounts, love 'em though we might, are not. The Paramount could be very easily replaced.

I don't want your right testicle, or your left one for that matter, unless I can cash them at the bank. My Schwinn Volare, Red, 53cm, complete dura ace, is currently listed on ebay.
