Fizik K:ium Saddle vs Braided Carbon Saddle
From the looks of it the two only differ about $30 and 30grams, so a buck a gram? What are the benefits of the two different materials?
I have only been on the metal rails before and never on carbon saddle rails. Any benefit for going with the braided carbon over the K:ium? If both taken care of would the carbon rail wear out faster and snap or something in that line?
Thanks

Nope. Most seat posts work with them. A lot of people get that idea though but it works.

ive got the kium and going braided..the carbon saddle is only 10grams lighter for an extra 100 bucks...try justifying that jump...i decided carbon braided is enough...youll need a special clamp or post for it if yours wont accept it without crushing the carbon rails....

What is K:ium? My saddle has these rails, but I never looked into it ... I just rode some demo saddles for a while until I found the one that was most comfortable, and bought it.

I just rode on the prologo nago and i like their saddles (looks) but it just hurt my arse too much..the fizik isnt as wide in the back and flat so my bum fits around it better i guess

I am now permanently hooked on fizik saddles because of the ICS saddle bags. Any bag that attaches with velcro always rubs holes in my bibs.

I have the Fizik Antares in both Kium and Carbon Braided. The braided rails are 9.x mm high and 7mm wide (vs. the 7mm round of the Kium). No problems with a top/bottom seat clamp but the side clamping models will need oval pieces. My Cannondale Synapse for instance, I had to order the different part from the guys who made the clamp for C'dale. In terms of weight, it's the Antares Braided vs. Antares Versus, feels huge to me. I much prefer the braided on shorter road rides, any kind of hills. Mainly where I'm out of the saddle for some period. But favor the Versus on consistent effort rides like crits, paceline workouts and TTs. GL
