What time do you wake up and leave for your commute?
Having to rise around 5am or earlier has been a factor in keeping me from biking to work. I am not a morning person.
What time do you get up and get on the road?
For the poll, choose what time you start your ride in.
Feel free to post what time you get up in the morning, or elaborate on your morning ritual/start time.

^ +1, these days anyway.
By having my clothes packed and lunch prepared, it doesn't take me much time to get out of bed and on to the bike. This spring, however, neither have been prepared so it has been a rush to get ready and sometimes having to stay later to make up for the late arrival (after showering of course).
Alarm goes off at 5:30, often up and dressed by 5:50-6:00, on the bike by 6:10, arrive 6:50-7:00, start work at 7:30.

Up by 4:15 - 4:30
On bike about 5:15
Arrive at work 7:30 - 7:40
Shower
Start work at 8 am
Make the 30 mile trek back starting at 6 pm. Not every day. I want a life. I do one way to make it easier sometimes.

Alarm goes off at 7, I'm on the bike at 8, at work around 8:30. Heavy traffic doesn't really bother me, and I hate waking up before the sun rises.

My son's school starts at 8:15, so we usually leave five or ten minutes after eight. Leaving at 8:10 is pushing it, though. Lately I've been waking up around 6:30 to bake bread in the morning, but I sometimes don't get up until 7:30.

Before I started commuting this year, I'd be in bed till 9am and at work by 10am. Lazy slob.
Now that I ride to work, I'm up by 7am, on the bike by 8am and at work before 9am and I feel much better all day.

I usually travel for my job, but the last month I've been fortunate enough to be staffed "locally"
It's 21 miles one-way, but there is a bus stop 3 mi from my house. I ride ~3 days a week, mostly it's
Wake up at 6:10
Out door at 6:30
Off bus at 7:20
Out of shower and in work at 7:45
....
Leave in the evening (who knows on the time)
Ride 21 miles
..

This and many other posts have convinced me that something just isn't right here on Earth right now. So many of us are so low on energy and so lacking in spirit. Perhaps we're just overloaded with bad news and dire predictions from around the globe?
A year ago, I couldn't wait to jump out of bed before the crack of dawn to get ready for my commute. This year, I find myself hitting the snooze button again and again until it's just too late to ride to work.

Wake up @ 6:30, get my nephew up for school. Lay back down.
Get up @ 7:00, to get ready myself; I take him to the bus stop @ 7:30.
Get my daughter up @ 8:00, I'm out the door by 8:15-8:20. Work starts @ 9:00, so I have time for a quick breakfast once I get to work. Packing a lunch is not an option, since leftovers rarely make it through the night in my house. What DOES, I leave for my sister & her husband. It's why I don't realize the same amount of savings as other folks who've gone car-free. (Sister drives daughter to school, no bus available for her)

The problem is the work-a-day world never stops, and the days of the 9-5 job are long gone and have been replaced with the 7-5:30, and those are just the hours you're clocking. Doesn't count the getting up at 5am, and getting home at 6pm. At this point you have to cook dinner, and maybe you have enough energy to watch some TV.
We don't spend time with our family, our pets, doing the things we love, hobbies, etc. It affects every aspect of life.
I'm an elementary school teacher so trust me I see the effects every day.
The world needs to slow down, go to a 3 day weekend, and a 9-5 workday. Things will get done. It will just take some time to adapt.

Up at 3:50 and on the bike at 4:30. I can hear cars coming and see the lights from the side streets. Not a full time commuter, but I get 2-4 days a week. I run hot, so I love the cool mornings.

Up at 3:40 and on the bike by 4:00- 4:05 A.M. Have my lunch and most of my stuff in the panniers. Stop and get a paper on the way and at work by 4:40- 4:45 or so depending the headwinds if any. Takes me a few minutes to get my clothes changed and have time to check on the e-mails and schedule for the day. Shift starts at 5:30 A.M.

Alarm goes off at 5:00. But I usually don't get up until 5:30. I leave at 7:30. 6 mile ride takes 30 minutes with a tail wind, about 40 otherwise. Call it 50 minutes to get cleaned up and ready for work at 9:00.
I get off work at 7:00. I'm always home by 8. Usually 7:45.
I catch the tail end of the morning rush hour, but it's not too bad. I miss the evening rush hour. The evening traffic can be surprisingly light or surprisingly heavy. I haven't been able to determine any pattern to that. Seems to be pretty random.

Alarm is set to 7:12
1st snooze takes me to 7:15
2nd snooze to 7:18
occasional 3rd snooze to 7:21
rare 4th snooze to 7:24
Regardless, out of the shower by 7:30
Dressed, breakfast eaten, lunch made by 7:50
On the road at 7:52
At my desk at 8:02
Can't seem to get ahead of those two minutes.
Although I work at a desk, I have my computer mounted high and stand. I sit enough in meetings.
