My four Trek 720s

I didn't want to highjack the recent post showing off a super looking 720. So starting a new about my 4 720s.

1983 -25.5 inch - Got this one new as a frameset. I built up this way. Sugino Mighty crankset with Campy rings Phil BB. Suntour Superbe rear - cable routed through a brass spoke nipple. Dia Comp mtb canti brakes. Nitto bar and stem robbed from my 1973 Fuji S-10S. Built wheels with Phil hubs and Weinmann concave 27 inch ( not in this picture). Specialized Turbo folding tires. Ideale seat clamp on a straight post. Can't remember original seat. Cannondale racks. Many miles on this one.

1984 - 24 inch - My Father's purchased new. All original except saddle. Trek water bottles made by Specialized. This bike probably has less than 300 miles on it.

1983 - 24 inch - This was offered to me about 8 years ago and I could not turn it down. Mostly original. Rear derailleur replaced. Hanging on a hook since I got it.
1985 - 19 inch - Bought this about 10 years ago to get my nephew riding. He quickly out grew it. He now has a Trek with Di2.

Your dad's is the nicest of the bunch but all are my size. I would suggest only one thing - shorten your brake cable housings.

Very nice but I must admit I am distracted by the Holdsworth tandem.

Sorry, Too lazy to get the 720 off the hook.
The Gemini is a little short for me and has been hanging around for at least 10 years. Back in the drillium days. I found an old catalog showed the drilled chainrings standard.

If you're going to have a Trek, a 720 or a 930 would be considered "most desirable". I once had a 760 (a little too small, but it didn't feel "special") and a tri-series (dead as a door nail around the Rodale track). Wheels, tires and individual preferences make all the difference. Glad you've found your niche for favorites. Pretty sure only a small number agree with me that 70's Raleighs that are 21-1/2" are the bees knees. Enjoy, and hope you find someone the right size to pass that small one on to.
