Machinest's Workshop did a comparison of thread penetration with ATF/acetone, liquid wrench, PB blaster and Kroil and the ATF/acetone mix required the least torque to loosen.

My 1400 is the same frame but with aluminum fork and 105 group. Very nice riding (I believe tubing designed to mimic 531 or SL) bike.
I don't think I could get $300 for my very nice '91.

I need a couple of treatments but this saved a 50 yr Brooks Pro for me
