Thank God! That’s the worst of all winter scenarios.

-2° will be our high for today, currently sitting at -17°. I think that we're lookin' to get above freezing for a couple days at the end of the week, though, which will be nice reprieve.

I think developers like them because they can get more houses built per acre, and busy consumers want them because the HOA takes care of all the yardwork.

I suspect I get a variation of the traditional SAD, getting somewhat depressed with low energy in anticipation of summer arriving and winter departing. Not a big fan of the heat.

Yeah, they're on a pretty significant incline. There's prolly more elevation in that frame than there is in a 30 mile Velo Vol ride.

I agree 100%, but these types of developments have become very popular with both builders and buyers. Toll Brothers is putting up 37 McMansions on a tract at the end of our street, and they sold out quickly.

Wrong.

Yet on the other hand most people who complain all winter about temperatures in the 40s and 50s usually get up and move further south than they already are.

When the developer applied for this monstrosity, we local residents made a big stink with the township but it got approved anyway. Sad.

I know a number of people who feel the same way. It happens to me after weeks of 100+ days but it was a lot worse when I was working.

There is another deal here where they plant pre-fab houses on leased land. They have a full sized garage and look ok but the lot isn't much bigger than the house. Then there is the lease, or "space rent", which is $1400 per month for the area near me.
