Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That GnR machine is much newer than 1970s.

And I've played much older machines than 1970s, the most primitive was from the early 20th century and didn't have flippers, it was essentially table style pa*****o

As for how long, a quick perusal of their recent rides indicates they're often in excess of 70 miles. The distance and amount of climbing sounds like you, but I don't know about the pace.
I wasn't thinking about doing it. I was surprised that Terry said what he said. Maybe he doesn't do long difficult rides unless it's a special occasion?

I've done some climbing rides but not fast. Terry would drop me on my best day even if he was having a bad one.

Plus the M8 is approx $50k and who knows how much it would cost to import, $10k-ish maybe these days???

What's so notorious about that one? There's been chatter about it in "the 33" over the years. I don't recall it having a bad rap, but it's been a while since we had regular west-bay users in that subforum.

I love the sound of old school pinball bells!

IIRC, Larry was complaining about being asked about a waiver when he tried to join an Alto Velo ride. So he showed them by shadowing the ride without actually joining.
Pretty sure if you join tge club it's understood you don't hold the in liability but if you ride with them and are not a member then they ask you to sign one. I don't think it matters any more though. No clubs around here ask non members to do it anymore.

HVAC on a screen is a recipe for disaster. I’m fine with the rest, but put it as actual buttons so someone isn’t distracted flipping through screens.

My body battery was 50 this morning.
I’m normally in bed by 9:15 with a 4:30 wake up, last night I was up until nearly 12 trying to get the fork on the soloist wrapped. It was a huge pain in the balls and I ended up giving up- just couldn’t get it lined up right.

We also went to our trainer last night for upper body. Set weight for bench is up to my body weight now, which I guess is good. Was a pretty solid workout where we ended on alternating waves on the battling ropes, 30s on, 30s off for 4 sets. My number of waves were 125,115,112 and 110. Not shabby.

Tonight is lower, moving up to 200 set weight for deadlifts, will do backward lunges with 50 in each hand and who knows what else.

Tried a threshold ride and just didn’t have the juice to do it. Then lost interest in continuing on with a recovery workout.

Tried the wrap again this morning and got the first piece down and bubble free in 15 minutes, clearly it wasn’t my night last night.

Verbal diarrhea over…

I haven't done anything like that in a while. Used to do 100feet/mile most Saturdays but never at the pace of the goats.
I want to do one for my 70th in April and probably do it solo. I haven't done the Heartbreak loop in a few years, used to love that ride. Or the Two Tujungas. Did that twice around my 68th and I can do it from home. Still time to chicken out.
