I usually ride more frequently vs ride longer. The weather, life, & other factors are making each ride *count, as I may not be able to get out there & ride willy nilly to fulfilly the miles. I will not complain if the miles blow past the personal norm. lol

I did a pidley 40 miles, ave 17.4 mph (the only similarity) with 2000’ vert. My only excuse is being an old feeble 66 YO.

22 miles in 2 hours in sloppy drizzle on 25mm's and rim brakes. Did not want to crash today so shut it down after twitching my rear tire on some sand.
Oh yeah, 2 hours to give the Peloton a bath, cleaning and re-lubed afterwards.

Put in 106 yesterday. My garage to the group ride, group ride in the middle and then finish the century at the end. I'm getting to a point where I want to go for a century a week with a buddy of mine.
20 miles on the MUP today for recovery.

No offense, and am glad you got in100 miles last week, but can’t quite understand the premise behind a multi-day ‘century’. The definition of a century is riding 100 miles in a single shot. If all of us could come up with our own definition of what constitutes a century, then isn’t the term meaningless?
Wouldn’t it be more meaningful and straightforward to say I rode 100 miles last week? But do your own thing and keep bagging the miles.
PS, I rode 4 double centuries this year, but spread it out from Jan 1 until today.

Did a quick 25 with 1500’. Finally starting to feel like I am getting my legs since I am clobbering my previous PRs.
Just scored a brand new Wahoo Kicker still in the box from a neighbor for 1/2 price so next Spring I should be much farther/further ahead, but I will take what I can get for now.

You're doing great, some of these people must not have anything to do but spend all day pedaling I like a couple hours but after that my mind is thinking about what I need to get done for the day.

Hmm, how is doing 40 miles in 2.4 hours on a weekend, or 23 miles in 1.5 hours on a weeknight, pedaling all day? Some people are more determined to ride their bikes than others even if it means riding at 9 pm or getting up at 4 am to get in a spin before work.
I am definitely not a 4 am person (do have friends though) but as my entire adulthood, I'd get in my workouts late night after the kids were put to bed. If there is a will, there is a way.

So folks may be empty nesters, don't get off into multiple hobbies, have four seasons & only ride 1.5 of those 4. If casting judgement is what makes others tick, then who am I to judge?

Meh! Some people are unhappy with their shortcomings so they need to find a reason to criticize others. As you can see, inaccurate statements here lead to some guy trying to discredit my comments to cover his own deficiencies.
I post a lot of 40.50 weekend rides, some midweek 23's as most, but still trying to figure out who the poster was talking about, 150 miles 3 or 4 times per week that "lots of guys do" when I can't find any in the recent month in this thread. Sounds to me like a lack of comprehension.

hmmm I think I now have a personal goal. Toughest part is having mother nature not give birth to childish weather!

The miles are much longer when on the trainer. I wish I could have that weather, but it's not in the cards to move anytime soon. Taking care of two handicapped elderly requires a lot of drive*. Especially when there income doesn't even cover the health expenses fully.
