Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wanted to ride my regular Sunday ride yesterday on my road bike but the clouds to the north looked nasty so I rode around the neighborhood. This morning I wanted to attempt my regular Sunday ride but my wife watched me clean and mulch a 400 square foot flower bed yesterday and I was beat. So I took a spin to a nearby duck pond that makes me happy on my old Takara Grand Touring. Then she watched me do some more work.

I guess this meets the thread's criteria. Pacifica Pier, and NO FOG!

Always a good coffee stop this one. La Manche in the background. Slightly off the left / east of here
are 116 offshore wind turbines with 400MW of capacity.

Emerald Isle, NC. Big Blue 1985 Cannondale SR300, Dura Ace w/ bar end shifters. I got quite dehydrated on this ride. By week's end, day time riding was unbearable due to heat and humidity.
