Funny. My am commute starts out uphill, I hit the 120s immediately, and it never has a problem tracking. In the pm, it will often stick in the 80s for the whole 25 mi. workout.

Bit of a piecemeal 3 hrs for me today. Got a hall pass from my wife to head out for three. Spent the first two with a local hammer group ride, which ends near our place.
Rather then continuing to ride around outside, I thought I'd swing by the house. Liz was a little flustered since the baby did not want to go to sleep. So, I took over baby duty so Liz could sleep in more. Once baby was ready for a nap, I hopped on the trainer for the final hour (Zwift). Thing is, baby woke up 30 minutes in . I wanted to let Liz sleep in more, so I fed baby and played with her a bit. Once Liz woke up again, I again jumped on for my final 30 minutes lol.
5 hours elapsed time, 3 hours riding time. I feel good about being able to help Liz though! It is her birthday weekend after all.

Looks like about 11 degrees colder up there, as it's about 2000' higher than the homestead.
If there's no snow (or rain) falling from the sky and you're not in a cloud, then the temperature decreases by about 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit for every 1,000 feet up you go in elevation. That is 9.8°Celsius per 1,000 meters.

Today is so damn beautiful that I almost wish I didn't have that rule about the Sunday ride being sacrosanct. But I spent an hour or so weeding, then snaked out the shower drain, pulling up 3 clogs the size of mice before getting one the size of a rat. Mrs. GJ blames The Older Boy's long hair, and she may have a point. Anyway - ew.
3 hrs in Zone 2? I can't manage that. I have to stomp up some steep pitches, and grind along at Tempo for a while, just to break the monotony.

For anyone at a loose end, complete coverage of the Track Nations Cup from earlier this month is on YouTube and is a pretty good watch.

Pretty good turnout this a.m. for club rides. The scary e-bike woman was there but she went on a different ride than I did. I wanted to talk to the club president about her and he was on our ride but a friend beat me to it. I don't know if he is going to do anything about her but I did hear other people say they had issues with her, even one of her friends.
Anyway there were close to 20 riders on the route, which was 84 miles but some of us shortened it to 65. Beautiful day with a bit of headwind on the return trip. One friend was hurting and wanted to stop so 3 of us stopped and he bought snacks and drinks for us.
