Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Apple Watch records HRV at random times, when you are doing random things. This produces a useless measure of HRV. Pay no attention to those data!

Marco Altini, author of HRV4Training, writes (his emphasis):

"Finally, the Apple Watch is also able to measure HRV reliably when using the Breathe app, and can also be integrated with HRV4Training. If you are an Apple Watch user, please read this other post as well. As I will explain below, data automatically collected by the watch is of almost no use, and you need to take your measurements first thing in the morning (please see also this blogfor a deeper dive into the topic of night HRV data)...

"Despite the fact that no third-party app can control the Apple Watch or take an HRV reading, the Breathe app that comes with the Watch, consistently pushes HRV data to Health every time you use it.Hence, you can, as a matter of fact, trigger an HRV reading using the Breathe app first thing in the morning, and disregard the rest of the data that is automatically collected."

I take an HRV measurement with the Apple Watch Breathe app, first thing in the morning, seated. I ignore all the other HRV data the watch collects.

I only occasionally run 'em, on rare occasions I get tubes with fun coloured caps — clear, green, red, Conti yellow, etc.

I've got work to do and mouths to feed! Also walking is already a step in the right direction (pun intended) compared to cycle commuting. Way more relaxing/peaceful - I started this when I was unable to cycle following hernia surgery. Most days I try to get out the door a little earlier so I don't need to rush on my walk. The walk home is usually leisurely.

Congrats.

Is it more or less than your current house? Did the seller do any remodeling before listing? Are you going to do any remodeling before you move in?

Those are the questions the volunteers in the world yearn to know.

Nice. I know you plan on keeping the shovel in an undisclosed location, but does the new place have a secure undisclosed location?

Nice try. All matters related to the storage of the awesome shovel are undisclosed. C'mon, it's the awesome shovel!

Yesterday in the wood shop I sliced just the tip off my left thumb. Enough that it needed a bandaid. That thumb is the only fingerprint I have registered for the phone. Might be time to get a second one

Edit: Done

Every house I've bought was new when I moved in. If I were to buy a pre-owned house, I'd have to gut it and do a complete refinish out.

That's the OCD in me. It's kind of like wearing other people's underwear.

Would this include tearing out the drywall, rewiring, plumbing, etc? I have to ask because I have never had OCD

No, moving into a pre-owned house would be like wearing the prior owner's underwear.

The spare tube has one. Keeps the valve stem from abrading the tube.
