I have a 70s era Mercier 300 I need to finish building. I started on it last summer but haven't made much progress so I reckon it just became a winter project:

I was at a swap meet last weekend and spotted this Fuji Touring Series IV frame. Guy wanted $60 and I walked away. I started thinking about it and realized I had almost everything for it, except new tires, bar tape and a quality saddle. I walked back and offered $40 and here it sets now. Did a quick build to see how I liked it. Now I need a few things to finish it up.

I am excited to see how you attach 5 rear derailleurs to the frame!
On a serious note- the innicycle headset is super nice. Really neat bit of tech to bridge classic with modern.

How many of us can pick up a frame and “do a quick build” with what we have on hand? I’m pretty sure I could do this a few times over…

And your build does not look quick by any means - it looks very solid!

I stupidly am making bikes for others (not really stupid, as it is for a few students and first year teachers who need a bike), so my own projects moved down in the queue...

At least I am starting to process the extra 17 or so frames, and 14 or so bikes worth of components from last years giveaway.

I got this the other day,
As I got it

Brooks seat and new rubber grips

New Chain and freewheel

New shifters and brake levers on a riser bar. Lost 1.5 lbs with this change

Might do a 26 to 650b conversion.

1972 Fuji

Nearing completion but can’t get decent outside weather for much of a test ride. Went about a mile in 20 degree weather dodging ice patches on road.

Poor basement photo because of uncooperative weather

I’m thinking of going full bell bottom flash with orange housings, orange painted crank flutes, and green orange yellow seatpost flutes. Not much left stock, so a homage build to the era. In your face flash might be fun.
