Some nice looking rides in here, nice work y'all. Here is 1983 Specialized Stumpjumper
I'm trying to find a suitable hyperbole. I want.

So, how *do* you keep white/cream tires white/cream? I'd like to seem some pics of more well-worn tires.

It has honestly been a losing battle. That shot is from the maiden voyage on my new build.
I had a similar build previously and the tire care was painful. I ended up using harsh car white-wall cleaner that managed to strip the Fat Franks logo right off the rubber and kill a patch of grass in my yard.

My Batavus Sprint. The first new bike I ever had, or bought. In 1981. Restoring it in the winter of 2011/2012 renewed an interest in bikes, and made me buy better old steel.

This one is a very comfortable ride though.

cleaning white tires

I know some nurses who use toothpaste to keep rubber soles of their shoes white. Anybody try that on their tires? It seems a really soft brush and a light touch would save your logos while scrubbing away dirt.

I needed a new tyre for the front and found a new whitewall at a very reasonable price but when I put it on... it made the rear tyre look terrible so out came the Tipex (correction fluid) and half an hour later I had matching tyres.... but for how long?!

So you could say: I stand corrected!

A couple of Panasonics:

A 1989 Panasonic DX4000. When I picked this bike up, it had been converted to SS, and a really poor job of it.

The second, a 1988 Panasonic DX2000. Upgraded it to Shimano 105.

The third is not a Panasonic, a 1992ish Diamondback Expert TG, sold this one yesterday:

My Miyata set up for "fishing bike" mode.

Walleyes at the Mississippi river and Steelhead along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

I borrowed the white tire idea from my wife's 83 SJ.

It is a very versatile bicycle.

...and her favorite by far.

Yep.

26x2.35s.

Don't forget about Continental Retro Rides. I bought a set at Amazon for my Fargo for less than $45 for the pair.

700x50s on the Fargo. They roll almost as well as the Fat Franks.

Cheap and fun.
