I just bought...

I got some BLS axle straps for Christmas. I am using them on my Speedplay pedals.
I know there are some decent options out there for attaching the strap to the bottom of the pedal as well - ranging from just running a bolt through the strap into the pedal to the very nice adapters from Cruz Components.
But I was toying with some other homemade options. I tried using some medal duct strapping strip to create a loop I could bot to the bottom of the pedal. It worked, but was very ugly. But I also started playing with a rare earth magnet, which is strong enough to hold through the strap to the bottom of the pedal. I think I am going to get a larger magnet and glue it to the strap so that it holds to the bottom of the pedal to help keep it in place.

Just got a set of the "Selcof" track bars from Planet X. As I suspected the drop is not really 135mm as their website states but about 120mm. 135mm is the drop to the very bottom of the bar not the center, which is the standard way to measure bar drop.

interesting. how do you like 'em so far? got pics?

They're not even on my bike yet but I should have a chance to ride them Friday and again Sunday. I'll give a review and compare them against the Scattos I have on my bike now.
I think I'll like them given my preference for bars that have a true flat section at the tail of the drops.

I picked up some of those 15 dollar 38mm Tange handlebars for fun this spring while racing (wanted to try something deeper than the ADB-X I have on my commuter), except during fitting I realized that I need to get a 130mm stem to replace my 120mm because of their smaller reach which feels off... Bah. Also their grip area is also oddly long?
Don't know how much work/money I really want to put into these.

Long grip area is great for standing starts. 37cm Scattos And EC90s have long grip areas.

Actually on further inspection/comparison, they're the same length as the Dedas, the shorter reach made them look longer. My mistake!

I've got a set of these on my new build, but as I've only just joined the forum, I don't seem to be allowed to post a picture yet. Once I can think of another 9 things to post about, I'll put a picture up.

Very nice, Mr. McBoobyface.
BTW, if you are so inclined, it's not difficult to remove all paint using wet sandpaper (of certain grit) and a basic elbow grease procedure then clear coat. I did this to my Scattos and I'm happy with it.

Nice. I can't quite tell - Do they turn forward really early, the way Scattos do? Or are they a little bit more modest? I'm curious about the ability to use them in the sphinx position.

More sphinxable than scatto but not as good as a compact road bar. The much better variety of hand positions in the drops though is worth it for me over a compact road bar . Compared to the pro vibe track bar or traditional bend road bars I've used before I don't think the selcof bars any better or worse in the sphinx position. They're extremely similar to the Look Sprint bars I briefly had.
Here's a shot of me riding them from the front as I won the tempo race this past weekend. I'll grab some more pics of the bars tonight maybe.
