Those style pedals, to this day, still scare the bejesus out of me. I had a pair on my GT when I was a kid, slipped off them and ran one up them right up the front of my shin, digging 3 deep, bleeding channels up the front of my leg.

Oh, god. That sounds awful.

I have the metal-bodied Race Face Æffect pedals on my fatbike, and slipping off of them has never even come close to happening. I think that's gotta depend a lot on footwear. Then again, I don't think I would ever be going fast enough on that or an MTB (especially SSMTB) to have too many problems. Fingers crossed. I definitely am reluctant to go clipless for these applications.

Little update to my recently having bought a K710 SL. I actually BENT the handle on my little Rivoli chainbreaker becire the stupid mushroomed pin would actually pop free. So I grabbed a nut driver that fit the handle, and one of my hardened steel punches, and upgraded! 10x the leverage made very short work of the offending pin!

I still have scars on my legs from when I was a kid racing BMX in the 80's and using these:

It's a great little tool, the pin is super tough, but the little twist-handle couldn't hold up to those SL rivets. Once I pulled it off, and had more leverage on both handles, it worked super smooth.

Scrod, those pedals are nightmarish, dude.

Rad display stand that @thewilson made.

If you're looking at it right, most of it just disappears, and its super cool. Can accommodate pretty wide tires (~35c?) and the joints are well made and fit tight so the stand is solid. I heard he was planning on making one out of wood too, so that might be an option in the future. Definitely a cool way to declutter and store a bike, and supporting a rad dude also.

Phil Wood Outboard BB for some used Omniums and a 44RN 47T Chainring from Retrogression. I also won some Suzue Promax SB's laced to Gray Archetypes off the eBay for the Parallax.

Way cool, I can picture a lot of booths @ interbike using them

Have you tried using it on hardwood floors?

I use mine on a painted wood floor. Doesn't seem to scratch the floor but occasionally i need to pay a little more attention to pull the bike out so the stand doesn't drag. It's def a stand more for show than anything.

Got SKS longboard fenders for my commuter. The Spesh fenders were driving me crazy, just would not stay in place. Plus, these appear to have better coverage.
