Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Saturday night into Sunday morning, Rango left his food untouched, prompting me to worry about him, because he's past the usual Greyhound expiration date. He also seemed lethargic, sleeping a lot, and sleeping really deeply. I went on my ride, but I was a bit distracted, wondering whether this might be a sign of something.

I got back from my ride, and he had apparently switched from "The food is inedible...." mode, to "....and the portions are too small" mode, having vacuumed up not only the food but all the stuff we'd added to it to entice him. He subsequently vacuumed up a couple more cans of food, then TWICE came bounding in from outside and jump-spinned for a minute or so. Clearly, it hadn't been a sign of anything.

I think I need to take the advice I often give Mrs. GJ and The Boys - "Don't borrow trouble. Enough will find you."

We're in a heat wave, during the hottest time of year. High temps for the next ten days. Ugh!

Low temperatures for that period are 78. 79, and 80. Could be worse. A very good reason to get out of bed at 3 AM

So we are planning to head to LA for Heidi’s graduation but we just got news she has been suspended from USC for participating in the recent protest. She did nothing violent but the administration seems to not care. She filed an appeal with the university but apparently there is no due process as this is not a government run entity. I am suspecting she will not be allowed to graduate. She is going to pieces over this. Sad!

That sucks. It might be worthwhile to talk to a lawyer.

She was NOT arrested. I believe campus security must have identified her somehow.

She has filed an appeal so fingers crossed they might reverse this but idk. Even if they do, she is so upset she may cue up RATM “Bulls on Parade.”

Stay tuned.
