I drive a 2000 Volvo wagon and run my painting business out of it.
But the vintage bus is the fun wagon.

Here's a pic of me and my dad posing with my '56 Chevy circa 1984. Somewhere in California. Straight 6 and "3 on the tree".

Our most recent change has my wife taking over the 2007 Honda S2000 roadster (with hitch so it can tow the 4x8 aluminum trailer, or use the bike rack); she bought me a 2015 Porsche Boxster. Both red. The 1964 Sunbeam Tiger mostly sits in the garage, awaiting nice days.

Life's too short to drive dumb cars or ride dumb bikes. YMMV!

I left my car in the country and haven't seen it in months. This is what I travel in mostly lately. I'll be cycling more now that the weather is better.

Last night I rode in the rain on one of these. Wow, DiCaprio and I choose the same vehicle. Cool, huh? But I know how to adjust my seat height.

Another C owner. Fun to drive. The bike fits in back without taking wheels off. Important for fendered, lowridered bikes. And to match my best ride - sufficiently red.

'07 Dodge Ram 3500 quadcab longbed with a 6.7 Cummins diesel(probably the largest vehicle on the forum) and my wife has a '10 Jeep Commander, both rigs capable of hauling the 3 kids+, and both can pull our 1941 Chevy Deluxe Fleetline in it's trailer. In the warm months I'm mostly on 2 wheels, either an '07 Kawi Z1000 or the human powered vehicles we are all so fond of.

The Nissan B15 (Sentra ? Tsuru / Sunny ) remained in production in Mexico for a long time after it was changed here... 1995 saw the change to the B15 series here and ours is a 1993.

My friend calls our Sentra a Mexican taxi as they were very popular models for that use... they are fairly indestructible and serviceable cars.

As such, the supply for spare parts is still rather good for my 21 year old car.

Here's a shot of my '96 Outback. It was a nice-looking car when I bought it ~6 years ago, but random collisions (none my fault!), rust, and other features failing are turning it into a POS. It's fantastic in the snow, though, and the EJ22 engine (at ~225,000 miles) should last at least as long as the rest of the car -- those were my main reasons for seeking out this car when my '91 Chevy Beretta bit the dust. Now *that* was a horrible winter car!

Yep, I'm looking forward to giving my car another "bath" and parking it for as long as I can in the back now that I'll be able to bike-commute more regularly. I totally agree with the car-culture stuff you posted earlier in the thread -- it's sad to see when repair bills pile up for people who can least afford them.

I had forgotten what I wrote. I looked it up, and it was four years ago. I was living in a suburb in NJ. I'm so happy now not to need cars as much!

I think cars are cool as hell. It's driving that I hate.

Same here. I do love my cars -- forgot to mention the '67 Beetle and '74 Thing restoration project in my garage. But driving them has lost much of its luster since I got into cycling. And while I'd happily lose hours to "recreational maintenance" before, I now tend to focus on the more necessary stuff like oil changes and keeping the tires topped off. That extra time and energy seems to have gone into bike repair and BF posting.

When I bought my Raleigh Record new in '71 I drove an oval window '56 VW, college days. Moved on to a '49 Pontiac streamliner. Graduated and bought a '50 Dodge ice cream truck. A '59 Edsel wagon & a '50 F-3 tossed in there as well. They weren't called vintage just old. But the seed planted. Got a degree related job & went less old, 510 Datsun.
Today it's a '03 5-speed, 2-door Focus, an '03 Royal Enfield, the wife drives an '04 C320.

Sometimes I enjoy driving, my old Cherokee pulls out like a Golf GTI and I laughed when I heard Richard Hammond (Top Gear) describe it like being in a cartoon where you expect to see chunks of pavement being pulled up behind you as you accelerate and hear the glorious sound of that high output 4.0 litre as it growls.

He pretty much nailed it.

The Nissan has been described as a completely uninspiring car to drive and it is that... it is simply a solid and reliable car with nice road manners and pretty good pep for rocking such a small engine that gets really good mileage even when you are cruising at 70-80 mph.

The original Wagoneer in nice trim is starting to move up the price scale as people start to collect them... Cherokees are abundant and generally pretty well priced although the Briarwood (YJ) is a rarer, lower production model because they came with every option and topped out the pricing scale.

From a driving standpoint the Cherokee is actually a little shorter and only a little wider than my Sentra so it does not take up a lot of space and the power to weight ratio and torque make it perform really well... it looks pretty small compared to it's modern cousins which have gotten pretty bloated looking.

I drive a 2005 Skoda Fabia VRS.
It's a souped-up small Diesel hatchback. It's a bit new for my liking though, and I can't easily get bikes in the back, without partially dismantling them.

It keeps beeping at me. I don't think it likes me very much...

My current car is a 2012 Honda CR-Z 6-speed hybrid two-seater which serves as my commuter car. The family vehicle and bike hauler is a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. Also, for the Jeep lovers above, my prior vehicle was a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara which I gave to my son when I got my Honda. It had about 180,000 miles on it back then and it's well over 200,000 now and still going strong. I loved my Jeep and will probably end up with one again at some point.

Last time I reported to this thread my daily driver was this '98 XKR:

Until we had a winter with a lot of snow and found out what a set of decent winter tires for such a car costs. In fact, more than this '89 XJ, which I promptly bought instead, and enjoyed during the remainder of that winter.

It had been cheap for a reason, but we liked it so much that, after a year or so, I decided to trade it for a decent, low-milage '00 example:

That has also been replaced since then, this time by a WJ, that I like even better, if only because of the V8 burble:

I headed toward 350K miles on my 2000 F-250 Super Duty 7.3 Power Stroke. Get's the same mileage as my 2005 Toyota Tacoma that lives in North Carolina, holds more bikes, and we can sleep in the back on camping trips.

In this picture there are 12 bikes in and on the truck and 3 in the cabin of the boat, as well as numerous other items as I move from North Carolina back to California. 10 of the bikes are broken down and in boxes-that was fun....
