Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The only "muscle car" I had was a 67 Mustang 4 speed, 289. I did have a 66 LeMans, a 69 LeMans, a 63 Grand Prix and a 65 Grand Prix but they weren't muscle cars, per se.

Do you watch the full race? My tendency is to watch highlights on YouTube. I won't tell you who won B-DP

There are plenty of people walking around outdoors, riding bikes, driving, etc. masked here too. I figure a few are making a political statement, some are folks with real vulnerabilities who don't understand the risks very well, and the majority have contamination or social phobias. The acceptability of masking must be a godsend for that last group.

Lived just shy of the 65th parallel for 43 years. Tad chilly for a very long time. Now live on the balmy 59th parallel.

Good luck!

A bunch of people I know got drenched unexpectedly at the Rose Bowl last night. I might have been one of them, but an urgent need to replace our doggie door kept me home.

I finally removed that cassette that wouldn't let me use the third from the bottom. Upside down, right side up, that one just wasn't available It was a 7 speed. I put on a 9 speed because that's what I had at hand. I suppose I could now have some chain issues, with the chainrings still being 7 speed. I really don't understand how these things work, in detail. I know it has to do with the spacing between the plates vs the thickness of the cogs, but I am unaware of the parameters involved. I have a new 8 speed chain here, and all the rest are 7 speed, as far as I know. I rarely throw a chain away.

Actually, the chainrings are vintage 1980, so they could be six speed. ?Quien sabe?
