Another BSO ad. I like this one because it says that the bike is new used once but the "breaks" need work. And the obligatory backwards fork:

IT IS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT... and getting lighter every day!

The oddest thing about this ad is that almost every thing is spelled right.

LOL true, only one word misspelled! I guess the pedals and chain just add weight. No need for them.

I was going to wait till I got over here to start posting these - promise I'll try to keep it down to a minimum - but I'm in Paris, Fr. where the idiot hipsters fixie fad is still at an absolute epidemic level.
for example - https://www.leboncoin.fr/velos/532699621.htm?ca=12_s

Most notably the fantasy that converting a gas-pipe, bike boom era bike into a fixie or a single speed somehow increases the value. Second most common offense is suggesting that a perfectly functional machine would be an ideal candidate for the conversion.
https://www.leboncoin.fr/velos/529681767.htm?ca=12_s
"le cadre peut convenir pour une transformation en fixie." yes, you could, but please don't - it's bad enough you blow tons of money on skinny jeans and that stupid haircut so you can look like you're poor.

fortunately, there's enough folks posting to the classifieds here in France that understand that you find these bikes in the trash all day long - you just have to be willing to get **** on your shoes

most recent 'reply' to my CL add. I wonder how anyone falls for this Spam?

"My client is Mr. Chen Shui-bian, who has presented a subtle offer which will need the help of a partner like you to complete successfully. Mr. Chen Shui-bian is in a difficult situation and he must immediately relocate certain sums of money out of China. More so, this must be done in such a way that it must not be tied to Mr. Chen. The sum is currently deposited in the name of an existing legal entity. Your role will be to;? Please provide me your email address for me to contact you regarding it."

19" Fuji Tahoe SL 29er aluminum frame - $65 (2000 Block East Wash)

Complete with headset, seatpost and clamp, and in great condition. Disc only mounts on stays. I may have used a sharpie to turn 'Fuji' into 'BOOB' on the down tube in an inebriated state, though can easily be washed off. $5 discount if you promise not to, though.

Sometimes it pays to be patient. This Ross Signature was posted on CL yesterday for $15,000. Today it's a killer deal at $3,999. Apparently it's a great deal for that graduating student even though graduation isn't until this spring:

[h=2]1984 Ross Triad - $3999 (des moines)[/h]

Fabulous compete example of the Master's handiwork. Number 65 of the last year. Unfinished and ready to ride. 9 speed but will take whatever additions you make. New owner gets fork and frame. Wonderful for Graduating College Student or Gift to family member. Amazing ride, grip and handling. For details, email and I'll return information. Good for heights of 5'8" to 6'2". Weight distribution 180 up to 220lbs.

Admittedly, the guy sounds like he was a jerk on the phone. When I have free stuff, I take a decent picture of and post it. I posted some old laptops (Win95-old) and had some people who wanted to take a look at them. I said, "Sure, I'm at work and they're in a box on my front porch. You're the third person to contact me so I don't know if they'll still be there but you're welcome to look." I did my best with the description and picture, the rest is up to the "buyer" when it's free. Just don't be a dick about it.

It's amazing what a DWI will do to get transportation that's comfortable. I just sold a bmx freestyle to a guy that was apparently in the same boat, $20 to get to the liquor store and back!

To be fair, he did phrase "under 12 pounds" as a question. It's like a trivia game inside an ad. Bonus!
