Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

That can't be a bad thing. I hear good things about that bike to no end, on podcasts and IRL... looks good! One questions - are those Shimano Hydro brakes and if so are they stock in the build?

Yes, Shimano hydros. RS785 brakes paired with RS685 levers, I believe. This one isn't Niner stock. It's Jenson's 2015 Ultegra Mavic build. (I'm a late adopter, haha.)

It's not bad. Not at all bad. I only have about 40 miles on it so far, so I'm not sure what needs or wants improving just yet--still just working out adjustments.

Here's my poor man's franken-grinder, built from a steel Univega frame I got from a forum member. I've put 500 miles on this frame so far. Looking forward to a 50-mile gravel race coming up on October 29.

With heavy 32c slick tires and wheels and tubes, it comes in at 19ish lbs:

Do you know what the original weight of the bike was? I have a lower model carbon Expert with Apex groupset and Alex 6 wheels. It come in at around 21.5lbs. Want to lighten things up but was thinking I needed to swap out wheels and tires to get there. What wheels and tires are you using now? Hydro brakes are the bomb too...

If your Redline frame is carbon, it should be the same one as my Team frame. Decked out with heavy training wheels (1790 gram Vuelta Corsa Disc wheels I got for $125 and 400 gram not tubeless Forte Metro K tires), bottle cages, pedals, and Garmin Mount, mine is 20lbs dead. But put on my good wheels and I can easily shed a pound off of that.

If you want to lose weight off your bike, wheels and tires are definitely a good place to start.

This is my Sensa Fermo SL. I have only had it three months or so but my road bike is definitely getting less use since then (which obviously was part of the plan).

I use 28mm slick tires on the slightly crappy original wheels for urban riding, the occasional "Strade Bianche" type ride or even for normal road riding when it's wet and generally too horrible to get the road bike out ..when most of the ride is on dirt roads or off-road I put my nicer Easton wheels with CC-tires on...it's a lot of fun in all those scenarios, wish I'd bought it sooner...

Here is my new cross bike. It is a Ridley X-Night frame built up with mostly Campy Chorus 11sp. It has an Athena long cage rear mech, Ultegra 11-32 cassette (shifts great), and Avid BB-7 Road S mechanical disc brakes. I just picked it up today and I am racing this weekend so it will be a good test. So far I am thrilled.
