I toured through the Dolomites four years ago...beautiful stuff. You don't get a sense in those pictures of how odd a lot of the rock formations are...very jagged and striking. Tre Cime especially. I'd love to go back with a road bike instead of a loaded touring bike...the thought of doing it without a triple is very scary though...

It's just not part of the equation. I'll be touring the Northern half with the missus. The only way she'd allow such a thing is if we had a tandem--with one crankset. If I had my druthers I'd retire wealthy on Lake Como today.
