Big Kitty @ THP

Possible mountain lion spotted - Houston Chronicle

With gloomy skies and temperatures in the 30s, Sunday wasn't a fit day out for man nor beast. But the weather didn't deter Houston lawyer Tina Nicholson from an afternoon run in Harris County's Terry Hershey Park. And it certainly didn't stop what Nicholson described as “a big cat” — possibly a mountain lion — from staking out a menacing spot on a bluff 20 feet above the bike trail.
While I have my doubts, since I have seen several deer grazing and froliking (sp?) the area, it wouldn't surprise me if true.

Just be careful and aware of your surroundings. Also try not to crash if it's around, think they like the taste of wounded animals

Good point. May I suggest if you're behind a non-cyclist and headed near the bluff or into the woods, hold back for a minute or two. If you hear screams, then said kitty is preoccupied and you're good to go.

I have seen a pack wild boar and some deer at the connecting george bush park. Wouldn't they find carcass of kittys victims?

hmmmm.... I wonder if rising water might have pushed the kitty out of GB park.... though crossing hwy 6 is highly unlikely.

Interesting though, I've seen kitties, but never any big ones.
