Help with my New to me Kona Stinky!

I picked up an old kona stinky for stupid cheap. It is well used but still in somewhat decent shape. As I was going over it, I noticed that the crank is bent. I was just curious what you reccomend I replace it with (brand, tooth count etc) Right now the big gear is a 28 tooth and the little gear is a 22 tooth.

Also, how can I determine what year it is? The guy I bought it from knew nothing about it as he recieved it as a gift from someone who found it in their garage when they bought the house.

Here are some pictures of the damage and the bike

Thanks in advanced! Max

Looks like a 2003 to me.
The Race Face Ride AM would go nicely on there.
Seller's story sounds sketchy and convoluted. You might have a hot bike there.

You better move that bike off the rug before your mom comes home!

Chain looks like it might be on the verge of rusting a little bit.

LOL My mom is on vacation! I get to work on it in the living room and watch tv!

Anyways, Yup was planning on replacing that chain, it has lots of wear on it.

also any recommendations for the replacement of the crank gears and mounting point?

Is the crank bent or just the ring? Blackspire stuff is a pretty good bang for the buck.

I reccomend you spraypaint it and file off the serial number.

Just about any mtb crank will be a fine replacement. Go to the LBS and get a crank and a bottom bracket to match.

I suppose thats possible. he said that it had been in his garage for 2 years, and his grandparents had it in theirs for 4 years. Who knows, I'm not going to worry about it.

anyways I ended up with a truvativ crank, a new BB and a new chain for less than $100 bucks. We'll see how it turns out.

Thanks for the responses all!
