ID this very interesting top quality full suspension folding bike!
During my recent cycling tour in New Zealand, I saw this very interesting folding bike:
It had a Rohloff hub, dynohub at the front, very well-worn Brooks B17 saddle, and what looked like some Bike Friday stem. Plus the cabling reminded me of Len Rubin's ultimate folding bike. I think the back wheel folds under, then the front section folds back similar to a Brompton.
The frame looks vaguely familiar, some American builder I'm sure but can't recall the name. Or is it indeed an early Len Rubin?
I found it very interesting that the rear rim was unworn - perhaps he didn't use the rear brakes just like myself?
I deliberately didn't resize the pics. You can right-click on them and copy the url to view full size in a new window.

Got it! It is indeed the one I was thinking of, quite obscure. I'll keep it under my hat for a while to keep you guessing. Costs $3000 which seems like a bargain.

Is there more specific info on the frame itself? Don't see any other specs, like folded pics or dimensions, warranty, etc.

But what is even mighty more interesting, is that this above pic, is not of a production bike, but the actual exact same bike! How's that for coincidence.

Did anyone see the folded dimensions on the web page? I couldn't find 'em.

You're not likely to get any dimensions on these as they are no longer in production. Just confirmed that tidbit with an e-mail from PBW. So... it would appear that you can't get these bikes at any price.

Oh? I was able to put one in the shopping cart with no trouble. Of course I removed it right away! But these are evidently the last few left in stock.

Ed, I asked for folded dimensions and pictures of the bike folded. The reply was... sorry, these bikes are no longer in production. My guess is that if you actually attempted to follow through and order one of the bikes, you wouldn't end up with any product. Either that... or customer service isn't something they do well. LOL
That said, the bikes definitely look the business... and with a Rohloff, that's extra sassy.

So does this bad boy really fold up like a 20" wheeled Brompton?
Yeah, wow from a bike shop in California all the way to New Zealand. I guess there must be very few of these bikes in the wild. For a $3000 bike it looks like poop.
