Why isn't Lance racing more?

Is Lance not worried about his lack of racing miles leading up to the Tour? The other contenders are racing a lot more. I know Tour of the Gila, Tour of Cali and whatever he decides to do in June (Tour de Suisse or Dauphine) are still coming up but what has he shown up till now? I am a huge Lance fan but I am a little worried about his lack of racing. When will he be doing recon in France like he used to do at this time of year? Who is he training with and is he on form or not?

Any thoughts?

By "racing" do you mean being in a race or do you mean being in a race and trying to win the race? If you mean trying to win; then you need to wait till July.

Lance has a winning formula for the TdF that he used for his win streak, I am sure this is part of the plan.

Correct. After either Suisse or Dauphine he'll be doing recon then - key there will be cobble sections and some of the key mountain stages (as he did last year - recon'd Ventoux before TdF). TofF was a big piece of that for the cobbles. Also, he never raced much in his 7yrs of winning - in fact he was criticized for having such hyper focus on TdF and not racing in other races as many of his competitors did.

I believe he does a lot of training at this time in Colorado at high altitude.

Since recovering from cancer LA has made himself into a grand tour specialist who specializes in one specific grand tour. If he uses a race before hand to sharpen his skills and wins that race its a plus if he still has some fuel in the tank after the TDF and races and wins that is also a plus but the TDF is the only race he really focuses on. His marketability is based upon his winning of the TDF. Its different for the other riders, they make their money by winning or contributing to teammate wins in races throughout the season. LA is unique in his race focus and his income focus.

people want to know why I'm not bike commuting more. my secret plan is focused on body transformation with swimming; running; weight training and cycling. biking to work is just a showcase ...

hmmm ... more like Lance than I ever imagined! hahaha

Yup, he is back in Aspen right now, and he was earlier this year too.
