2009 Schwinn Predlude?
Ok, I did a search all I could find on this bike was 80's model bikes, not a 2009 I found on CL. I know its a cheap as hell bike, but all the reviews of this thing say its decent minus the breaks suck pretty bad.
Any thoughts on this bike?

I've had one of them pass through my hands. It has a very stiff ride due to the low end aluminum frame and a straight blade fork. Be careful with the gear shifting. Check the bike out thoroughly. They are well known for having poor shifting when the chain begins to wear. If the bike is $100 or less, it may not be a bad deal if the shifting is working properly. If it's more than $100, or if the shifting is not smooth walk away.

Yeah, I figured it was now Target or Walmart crap, I would almost rather hold out for something older and used that may be a better bike.

2009, no. For that price, ypu want a late '90s Peloton: Reynolds 853 steel, and came with Ultegra (brifters and all).

It's really not worth it. I bought one when I was younger and knew nothing about road bikes. Schwinn designed this bike to work with their low end mountain bike components in order to save on production costs. I know this because the hubs and cassette are identical to the ones on my low end Schwinn mountain bike. The Prelude has 135mm dropouts instead of 130mm, and uses cassettes instead of freewheels.

^ Any suggestions for same price bikes in the Raleigh area? I went to Flythe Cyclery today, and although the team was very nice, they had no used, and their cheapest new road bike was $579.

I would suggest passing on it due to the shifters alone. You can do better on a used steel bike with better components, albiet a little older....

Dude.. i feel your pain looking for something.. there's not much here at the coast either... I spent a loooong time looking on CL to find something and in the end had to just suck it up and spend the money. They few, and I mean very very few bikes that show up on CL that were either my size(or close) or a decent bike lasted less than a few hours online before they were sold. but flipping through here's some that I saw..
Univega Road Bike - might actually be to small..
Nice Road bike, Giant, 59cm
Steel Road Bike
Luckily for you there's a ton of shops in the RDU area that could probably help you...

This got posted up this morning. It def looks mid 90's judging by the color scheme. Also, are those shifters on the frame, or something else?
