Thumbs up I bought some Ergons and bag for my Trek 7.5 FX...(pictures)

After breaking my foot and wrist here in China, I went back to the states for a couple of months and brought back some goodies. Its almost impossible to get these in China. I bought a rear Topeak bag and some Ergon grips, a helmet, a couple of locks, and a rear light that attaches to my bag. I am not sure I really like the looks of the bag, but it sure holds quite alot, especially with the expanded side panniers unfolded. The Ergons are so nice and comfortable, that words don't really describe how good my wrist and hands feels when riding. With my bad wrist, I adjusted them so that my wrist and arm are straight inline. I adjusted my brake levers downward so that I don't need to kink my wrist to use my brakes(did wonders for being comfortable). I also bought platform pedals to replace the junk on my bike, haven't put those on yet.

You should do fine with the Topeak bag. I have the largest Topeak MTX bags they make on both of our bikes. A lot of room inside and they hold up well. Mounted on the Topeak Explorer racks. On our long rides we carry extra water bottles in the side bags. Room for layers of clothing we remove. Also use to carry things we buy along the way.

We also use the Ergon grips as seen in your photos. Not 100% effective but far better than our regular grip shifters on long rides.

The chemical plant I used to work in had ties with two companies in China. Chem engineers I worked with spent some time in China. They came home joking about how difficult it was to get their bicycles repaired in China. The plant they worked at gave them bicycles to get around the town. They were directed to people in the tow who would fix flats for them, etc. Getting a flat fixed sometimes took two or three days.

[QUOTE=Guilou;10745761] Its almost impossible to get these in China.

That depends on your location, there are many online store in China where you can shop just like in the states, most of these stores are in big cities/towns however.

How do you determine what size GC3s to buy?

I have some rather small hands myself, so I went with the small ones. I am glad I did, they fit me real nice.

I have relatively small hands but I guess without seeing the grips in person it's hard to determine which ones to get. I wrote the company but have yet to get a response.

Hey meanstreak, if you look at the pictures showing the grips up close, you can see how big they are in relation to the actual bars. The small sized ones seem to be actually of a large size. I can't imagine how big the large sized ones would be. Maybe the large would fit someone like Shaq or another NBA star with huge hands.
