Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

just curious (lol this thread has been done in one way or another but oh well haha)

no need to ask me if i need a frame, and what for, im just wondering what YOU would do. say, if i said i have 500 dollars and would pay for any track/fixed/and/or singlespeed frame you wanted, so long as it wasn't a dime over 500, shipping included. frameset or just frame.

and no i dont need a new frame lol was just thinking "what if" about one of my bikes and been throwing around the idea of different frames, and was just curious what comes to mind to others.

im sure a few smarmy snarksters are going to flame me for one reason or another but meh just wasting time before lunch break. its slow around the office today.

I'd get the new Alien aluminum frame, and use it as a winter beater.

aluminum and winter beater don't sound synonymous. aluminum has been my worst bike experience.

I would just start hitting up ebay or CL looking for some nice vintage steel. The 80's Schwinn Columbus tubed frames are nice and very reasonable. I'm not much of a new frame kind of guy.

I'd prolly try to snag some old purdy steel frame... like... I'd love to put my hands on an old schwinn paramount. perhaps a high end peugeot. I love old steel.

I just took the time to read the OP and I realized you are going to pay me for a new frame.

I'll give you my contact info right away.

I just got slightly used Broakland SF frame with some extras for ~500. Well the price was 700, but I've sold wound up fork that was stock on it (don't trust carbon) for 180, so the final deal is 520 I am very happy and anxious that it will get stolen once I lock it in the city.
