Update 10-29-2010

Borrowed a polished aluminum stem from another bike and swapped to this Bianchi. I know many of you were saying how 'stand out' the black stem was. So here you go with the matching stem now. Yes still missing the brake cables and hoods. Comments? Or you say still go for ALL BLACK.

----------------------------------------------------------
Update 10-25-2010:

Since my friend has a new Turbo saddle around, I just grabbed it from him and try this setup. Please excuse the missing brake hoods, tape wrapping. It was more like a quick job so that I could have this picture and post in here.

----------------------------------------------------------
10-24-2010

That's how it looks like right now. Thinking to get a new saddle (Brooks?) and deciding the color of the new bar tape. Thougts?

B17 Standard Honey

B17 Standard Black

The 'Turbo' saddle

Bar Tape : Your choice of any color, any material, any brand

Thanks!

I vote, keep the Turbo on it. I don't like Brooks saddles on race bikes past about mid 70's and those have to be modified.

the honey brown might look nice depending on the bartape but personally I did black on two of mine. I may try the dark brown too

The current saddle looks great, but if you want a Brooks I think black would look best. I'm unsure about the color of bar tape. I'm sure black would be overkill, though. Celeste wrap might also be overkill, but it's done a lot. What color cables are you going to use? This is a factor in choosing bar wrap for me.

Very sharp bike!

I will take all your votes/opinion in consideration. Keep your votes coming, thanks.

Frankly I like the Brooks honey brown a lot but not sure if that will look good on the celeste. Probably it will have to be matched with the Brooks brown bar tape.

By the way, I haven't pick the color of the brake cable yet. You can also pick the color of them as well! And yes, either black or celeste would be overkill in this case.

Black saddle, black tape, black housings.
White saddle, white tape, black housings.

Either or.

If you went with Brooks, dark brown w/brown wrap, black housings.

Honey is just so far off, I don't know...

black Brooks Swallow type saddle if you must put a brooks on it. I'd keep the turbo or possibly look for a Cinelli Unica nitor saddles.
Navy blue bar tape, cloth.
black or dark (navy) blue cable housing.

I typically like saddle, bar tape and cables to be the same color. That said, I'm considering black Brooks pro with red bar tape on my trek.... I would vote all black on the bianchi, going with either the Brooks or the Turbo based on what your backside prefers : )

This looks great too. Reference forum member Stien's Bianchi for inspiration.

Style wise as said before, Brooks saddles do not belong on a race bike post '75 or so. And if you must, it has to be a Professional or modified B-17.

"Honey" Brooks in my opinion do not look good on any bike, they are just wrong. Brooks should be dark brown or black.

For a celeste colored bike bar tape should be black, white, or dark blue (if the decal set is dark blue).

Black tape (Bike Ribbon), housing and grips. Leave the Turbo on it. But, if it was me, I'd change the black stem to match the seatpost a little better. My eyes instantly went to the stem because it stands out - not sure if you want that.

If you go with a Brooks, I could be interested in the Turbo.

If you're one of those who ride Brooks and nothing else for the fit, go for it (I'd choose black). If you're doing it for looks, I agree with the others who suggested it's not the appropriate period. There are other good choices besides the Turbo though - Regal, Rolls, or Concor would all look great on that bike imo. My lower half prefers the Concor; others swear by the Regal and of course the Turbo was hugely popular. Try a few out if you have nice friends.

I just realized my friend has a new white Turbo saddle that I can try it on. I'll grab it from him and install it on my bike, as well as the white bar tape. Will keep you all updated

Guy down my street has something similar to that up there on a celeste coloured bike with white tape and cable housings. My girlfriend
gets narky when I cross the street to stare at it.

Leave the saddle. Bar tape should match:

1). Toe Straps/brake housing
2). Frame graphics
3). Saddle

in that order.

Black tape.

Whichever seat is the most comfortable (if you're riding it, no one can see what color the seat is).

Then ride.
