Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My stem cap says FSA, for 'full speed ahead' or something like that. Very inspiring.

I should get a St. Erasmus medal for mine.

Because that's what my last race felt like.

Probably not that original, nor is it mine, but my buddy has "Don't let the pain hurt!" on one of his.

Is it bad when I live/work/ride in Brooklyn and surrounding 50 mile area most of the year and know a possibly obscure picture of Lake Henshaw and the E. Grade Rd. climb?

"My other ride is your mom," yeah. Most of the school team had them on their bikes a few years back. I don't know exactly who made them originally, but I probably know them. Small world.

I envy you. I wish my work or family would give me an excuse to spend several (spring or summer) months in Colorado, Portland, Belgium, or some other part of the world. I've become jaded and frequently forget how good we have it here.

I may look for some lettering to apply the following: "HTFU," somewhere on the bikes.

Honestly, I just figured out what it means the other day. I think I crossed some sort of threshold at that point...
