I was able to get my PSV 10 out for it's first ride(after build). Today was a nice cool, sunny day(40 degrees and blue sky). I rode from home down to the Burke-Gilman trail, and then about 10 miles on the trail(on top of 15 road miles). A lot of people out enjoying the weather, so it was a little more crowded than I'm used to. The Sammamish Slough was smelling pretty ripe in a few spots, but that just made me faster.

and onto the road today, which was when the
rain let up.


I'm not sure it qualifies as vintage, but
it sure is fast. It appears I have finally
accomplished my dream of owning a bike
that is quite obviously way beyond my
capabilities. I am thus living the dream.

Location is the American River bike trail,
which was truly a madhouse today. My wife
actually saw two guys offer to duke it out
over some perceived offense with regard
to following distance, or possibly wheel sucking.

My favorite thread, seeing these vintage babies actually in use!

In between coats of drywall mud I squeezed in a 63 mile loop with about one mile of snow walking at the 8000' level. Here cruising at lower elevation:

Well since it was so nice out today, upper 50's, I thought I'd go out and buy a '78 Peugeot UO-10 and take it for a few spins around the block. I'll take it out for a little longer ride tomorrow.

After approximately 2 months, 4 days, and 5 hours, I got back outside on the bike today!

A quick after work ride with temps hovering around 30ºF got the blood flowing a bit.

I got a nice little cruise in around town today. Things are melting nicely and spring is coming!

I thought it would be fun to share this local landmark that I frequently pass. Forgive the picture quality/viewpoint, but it may be the best I can get on this gloomy day without standing on top of someones house.

This used to be the Bluestone Depot here in town. The old drawing is in a book that was published in 1875. Today, the building still stands in remarkable condition but the background is now a boat repair facility and houses in various states of disrepair line the street.

I am pleased to announce that, just 2.5 weeks after surgery, I'm up and running. Sorta. Two rides in two days, both short, both blogged onto rideblog. If I can make 3 miles interesting, I can do anything!

Two days ago
First landing state park. Wish I had a picture with my bike in it.
Just finished building my '86 Schwinn High Sierra that morning. Rode for about 4 hours. Sat on a secluded beach for about 2 hours.

John Smith landed somewhere near here before moving more inland to Jamestown...

I got 110 km in before foul weather(rain)(and lack of patches) got the better of me. No photos, unfortunately. Today was the day I was going to finally make it to Uxmal ruins. I'll try again.

First ride of the year, just short of 20 miles. 28 degrees, tad 'o wind. Snow started flying as I turned onto my street on the way home.

That snow looks horrible....... Most of the snow here is gone, and things are drying up. I could never take my good bikes out in those conditions (just the junkers), that's just plain ugly.

I was thinking the same thing. There is so much sand in these parts, the horizontal cast off starts accumulating on the frame.

That was just off the road so I could lean to take a pic. Roads were dry and nice!

Not a stitch of anything on the frame, note the fenders and LONG mud flaps.

On a route I scouted out yesterday for completely dry shoulders. Trust me...she didn't see a bit of wet

I just leaned 'er on the marker for the pic...every other inch was dry dry dry.
