Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The ORANGE 2011 Felt AR4...

Finally saw one in person and the orange/white/black theme is awesome! wasn't sure about it in the photos but in person it rocks. My have to go with this unique ride. Very sweet.

It's just the tyres that make it seem like too much.

Agreed... I'd switch to some GP 4000s quickly. Otherwise.. I LOVE the ARs.

Aside from the tires, I'm not seeing a whole lot of orange there. I love those frames, but they really only look good with deep rim wheels (50s or deeper).

Inside the fork, inside the chain stays and seat stays. They look much cooler in person.

I was looking at one the other day at my LBS. The tires would have to go, it was just an overload of orange.

I generally lean towards the understated, but that bike is hot.

This paint design was one of the reasons I got the AR3 instead this year, honestly. But then again I never liked orange too much.

Out of the whole AR series, I actually prefer the green of the 2011 AR5. It was a toss up between that and a Cervelo S2.

Went with the S2 because it fit me better, but the AR series is bling.

I dig it. I'm wanting a bike that's orange or has orange accents

do you guys like your ars? how do they ride? I can't find very many reviews on them. Is the bike pretty stuff or is it flexy? I'm all for aero but I can't stand flex. how is it on descents? Thanks

Not a fan. I prefer the non-aero frame look.

It's not about the look, obviously. It's about the aerodynamic benefits. In the pro field when you can't go any lighter without breaking the rules, you go aero.

Mine is not flexy. You really can't go with what people say - "oh I heard theyre flexy" or "oh I heard they're heavy". Mine is stiff and its 16lbs with nothing "ultralight" except for the saddle.
You really have to try it for yourself to know if its flexy for *you*.

The AR design, as far as I've read (see recent Velonews comparo), does really well with off-center yaw angles. If you're descending, turning left and right, that would be great.

The bar and stem are by "Kore". They are not as light as advertised and probably flexier than they should be, but they were very cheap for carbon bars with internal cable routing, so I tried them out. Really, no complaints.
