Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am ashamed of my sophomoric attempts to see what can and can't get past the filters.

For example you can't say ****** or ******bag so I have to write d ouchebag. And you can't say **** or **** or **** but you CAN say prick.

I must also confess, ashamedly, that I am spending more time these days in that "other" cycling forum.

And we can use curse words there, as long as we use them judiciously and kiss up to the mods once in a while.

I am not ashamed of the so-called "porno breathing" on my climb videos. The louder it is, the more I laugh. Especially during the editing process when I'm still under the influence of endorphins from the ride

On a more serious note, this does not mean that I laugh at other people's videos. If anyone out there in BF land was brave enough to post raw video of themselves suffering on a climb, I would have the utmost respect for them, as would many other people. They would get a comment and a thumbs-up from me, plus a new subscriber

That's not a confession for most internet forum members.

I'm a show off, have been since I was a kid.

I'll take any excuse to take my shirt off.

I get distracted on the roads because I too busy eye ****ing every cute chick that drives by.

I used to be a little chunky and lost it. I am now obsessed with my weight, more than some women. I turn down food and lunches at work all the time because I don't want the extra calories.

EDIT:

I HATE maintenance.....I hated cleaning toys when I was a kid as well lol....I always thought that things were meant to be used not cleaned....comes from my father who meticulously maintained all his nice things and tried to teach me to do the same. Perfect example, I wash my car once every 3 mos.
You wash your car?

I can't send private messages.

I'm nicer on the internet than in real life.

I lurk daily but post monthly.

I only own 1 bike (my wife thinks I have 2)

edit: I'm perfectly happy with 8sp microshift.

My car cost more than my bike.
I have a mirror, but I still roll my eyes behind people's backs who use mirrors and scorn their fredosity.
Same for a giant seat-bag that I use for rides that need lots of extra clothing.
I have a triple and a 27 tooth cog, and I'm in my lowest gear all the time.
I look at my average speed on rides and care if it's low or high.
I've never ridden more than 132 miles at a time.
I'm too fat for this sport.

And... I'm buying a powertap and maybe a stupidly expensive and light bike, so soon I can add, my bike is too good for me.

I ride as far to the right as possible and make an effort to be polite to motorists.

(...and I secretly believe that those of us who don't are being unnecessarily confrontational and deserve whatever happens to them.)
