Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That cranks probably more expensive than a lot of the bikes posted here.

Yep. Note the fact that I said "I'm sure it is not (cheap)".

It's an aesthetic thing. I think it is ugly and cheap LOOKING. That's just me. Too bulky for my taste, and the amorphous appearance (circular disc instead of a spider, solid chainrings, curved edges, weird graphics) just doesn't appeal to me.
FWIW I also dislike the appearance Shimano's newer cranks, as well. Not my cup of tea.

Listen vicelord.. Leave the simplifiying to someone who is qualified. Your job from here on out, is to fall in line and follow directions. Your making yourself look silly. I'm sure you get that all the time. Here just for you...

Here are the rules:

1) Post pic of your bike.
2) Be thick skinned, by posting your bike in this thread you understand that some comments may not be exactly what you want to hear.

Thank you Brian, in either configuration I would be happy to call that bike my own. I am not a fan of the black on black stealth look and can see why you chose some brighter stuff even if there was contrast between the white and black on your frame. There are tons of nice bikes in here but very few that are a unique example that has/will stand the test of time as a masterpiece of craftsmanship and design. Some may just be lacking the final daub of color that sets everything off.

Not reposting mine just because, but here it is in current trim. In unhotness form, it now has a riser stem, but I'll be most likely going +6 once I spend the money on a new one. The 110 it come with was just a no-go for me.

Also, I know my saddle is way nose up... I might investigate getting a new seatpost, this is the third time it's crept nose up on me...

All that yellow is a little painful. I'd cut the steerer down to the stem and change all that is yellow to white, including bar tape. Still ... your bike's way nicer than mine ;-)

I'm with you, not digging the yellow at all but other than that nice bike.

thanx for you guys honest opinion. I wasnt into yellow either but after wighting the other colors It seemed to look the best. I just dropped the stem down alot this week. the steerer will be cut soon. The white grip tape is to hard to clean otherwise I would have went with it.

For the future - Fizik Microtex (not soft touch) in white is pretty easy to keep clean - wash with Simple Green and a scrubby sponge, it's white again. Lasts a year.

Well when I purschaed the madone it was just whit silver and black. I wanted to add red but when i went on computer it looked bad and so did most other colors. when i got to yellow which was my last choice it made the bike stand out. so i custom ordered the saddle from fizik, got spacers, bar tape, jagwire cable housing and yellow hoods and had it all installed. I think It looks great. got a couple more things to do to it. Eveyone has a opinion which is why we post on here to get everyones opinion. i wasnt a yellow fan till I seen what it could look like then i was sold.

Nice bike, despite the yellow. You did a decent job of tying it all together with the cages and pedals. I would have to say "hot", though it would be hotter if you de-stickered the wheels.

Thanks! Yes, I definitely need to get around to cutting it... I've been putting it off for sooo long. The training wheels are Mavic's Ksyrium SLR wheelset.
