2009 S-Work Roubiax or 2009 Orbea Orca?
Hi guys. I'm currently ridding a 2004 Felt F35 and I'm now trying to build my first carbon bike. I found someone selling a frame set of 2009 Specialized Roubaix S-Works on craigslist for $1300, and another bike shop selling a 2009 Orbea Orca for $1500. Which one would you say is a better deal? I don't see myself doing any race in the future. I see myself doing long group rides, but that's about it.
I don't really have a budget for brand new frames, that's why I'm looking around and trying to build on a budget. My budget for a frame set would be $1300, so the Orca is a little over.
So which frame set should I go with? What about SuperSix Hi-Mod? I guess I'm just here hoping that someone could help me with the decision.

Alright. So I can get this either of them for 1350 with frame, fork, cannon seat post, and carbon stem. I guess at this point it's just a matter of reference. I gotta make a decision soon before someone else picks it up!
Is 1350 even a good deal?

Seems like a fair price. Checking Ebay gives you some idea of what they are going for.
I have an 07 Orca (12,448 miles with no end insight) and 09 Roubaix Comp (2382 miles on the frame). Out of the two the Orca is my favorite ride. The 09 S-Works probably has a slightly stiffer frame than the 09 Comp but the ride and handling isn't going to be that much different.
My first road bike was an 04 Comp that I used as a rain bike after I got the Orca; the 04 felt like a noodle compared to the Orca. I ended up with a new 09 Comp frame after the LBS found a crack in the 04 and got Specialized to replace it. The 09 Comp is a far better ride than the 04 but I still prefer the Orca.
07 was the first year for the new style/design Orca. I think they changed some of the carbon layups inside the frame for 09 and made it better.

I own a 2009 Orca. I really like it, but I can not comet on the Special-ed. Ha ha. The Orca is a very still and responsive bike frame. Really climbs well. With light 1400 gram wheels you will be in the low 15 pound range with a light weight group, such as Chorus, Red, etc.
