And today's finish...I've always thought that Cav acted like a bit of a jerk, but you have to give him and the team props. He started today's stage as the favorite and a marked man. Everybody knew he would go for the win. In spite of all of that attention, HTC STILL got the leadout setup and executed it perfectly. Absolutely amazing.
That kind of follow-through on promise/potential is what makes his teammates willing to give it all for him. They know, more often than not, Cavendish will deliver and reward their efforts.
All-in-all, a damn good tour!

No one actually drinks it in Australia though, and it's only really available at tourist traps.
Anyway, great tour. This is the first time I've followed one so closely (watched at least a couple hours of each day's coverage on the DVR before bed). Really really happy for Cadel.

Has coddling tendencies.
Heard on ESPN radio this morning (scores, update segment):
"...and Evans Cadel wins the tour De France."
and an hour later, this, twice in 30 minutes:
"CAddle Evens wins the Tour De France over Mark Cavendish." :slaps forehead:

A local favorite watering hole here in Topanga Canyon was owned and operated by a native Ausi woman. She served Fosters with pride, while letting us know there were more favorite options in the actual land down under.

Can someone explain if there is any reasoning behind this custom? Because it seems to me that if I want to take my sunglasses off, if the arms are under my helmet straps it doesn't matter, they still come off just fine. Whereas if I want to take my helmet off but not my glasses, then I can't do that with the arms over the straps because then the glasses come off along with the helmet.
If you put the straps over your glasses they make more noise in the wind and it is harder to hear your team radio.

I personally prefer helmet first then glasses as I have always found it faster and easier taking off glasses quickly with them on the outside of the straps.

ditto and I dont like how they move my glasses around in general.
back to topic, this was the first time I watched the last day of the Tour, quite a spectacle all in all, very much enjoyed the whole thing.

He was spelling it phonetically the way the announcer pronounced it.

Well, I think this thread certainly has outlived its usefulness. Die, die, die..........
