Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I love polarized lens, but they make my cell phone, and my touch screen navi unit in my truck unreadable, so I went back to standard lens. Gotta love Flak Jackets though.

and I agree with you about Pearl Jam. How can they possibly have their own station on XM? Their body of work is not that big!
Yeah, I am a bit of a Layne fan. I really loved their albums a lot. I don't think "Black Turns Blue" is terrible by any means, it just isn't the same is all, but realistically it never will be. What I find horrifying is Audioslave. How could the RATM, and Soundgarden's merger sound so wrong?

As for Pearl Jam Radio..... Bruce Springsteen has his own channel.... Have you heard any of his new work, hell his old stuff really wasn't even very good to be honest.

I agree totally. They have a few good ones, but every song on "Ten", was epic. That album is undeniably one of my favorites of all time. Hard to follow up such a true masterpiece collection of songs. Much like STP's first release. "Core" was a great album, but then they only went down hill from there. The thing I like about NIN, they called it just like it was. "The Downward Spiral", while it had some excellent pieces of music on it. It was no where near as good as "Pretty Hate Machine", or "Broken", and nothing they have put out since has surpassed it either.

Did a nice 61 mile ride today with the local club. 61.5 miles, 3,400 feet climbing, 19.6 mph average.

when I was growing up in Jersey, the worst insult you could call someone in my town was "Yankee fan". But we all rooted for the pathetic Mets.

So I answer you, the Mets as a team and the Yankee Fans are equally idiotic.

I agree again. The only way to understand Springsteen is to have grown up in NY/NJ in the '70s and '80's. You could not escape him. Enough people lived in that area to support that station. Maybe that is the thing with PearlJam in the Pacific NW.

I stopped listening to NIN after The Downward Spiral. Now the only stuff of theirs I listen to is on Broken/Fixed. I hear STP and I turn the station. I gave up on them when I saw them at Roseland in NYC and their fans created a mosh pit who's sole purpose was to hurt other people (and I used to get into the mosh pit at Bad Brains concerts)

Had a nice ride with a buddy of mine today. I ended up with 717 miles for the month of July. Not too shabby for a slow, fat, old man.

The Clover Dr Climb looked pretty good to me.

Was it all down hill from there? (so to speak)

There are a couple of more that get your attention but they are much shorter than Clover. Today everything was hurting me, I really should have just taken a rest day.
