Today I:
We'll start with yesterday, when we called amazon to let them know that our SSD hard drive that was ordered on the 1st has not shown up (2 day Prime)... They promptly sent out a new one with free overnight delivery. Today, I received that package, opened the box, only to find the package for the hard drive is totally broken open (the hard drive can easily slide out). I already called amazon, and they said we can send it back for a refund, but I am tempted to tell them that the hard drive was never in the package... but I am just not sure how to handle the situation...

Yeah, I have a OCZ vertex SSD boot/ application drive on my gaming computer back home. In addition, my wife's MBP has two inside as well.

Speed mostly. Plus all of the additional benefits including, battery life, performance, durability... Just like camera memory chips people keep getting the biggest thing so they can stuff too much information onto a hard drive that will inevitably crash on them and destroy their entire Petabyte (or is that too small these days?)
We had a family BBQ the other day, and my mother asked why such a small hard drive (128gb by the way) and my brother laughed and pointed out that our first computer had what, 16mb? and even then that was way too much.
Society these days...

Today I finished building up the old Univega for the lady aside from a few bugs that must be worked out...than I just need to convinced it probably won't kill her.

For the record, I have a combined 8tb's in my mac pro server's drive bays... all in RAID; and I've filled them ~70%... not with what you're thinking that begins with "p".

I run RAID 0+1; just one of the things I opted aside from reliability and form factor with buying a mac pro. And yes, for the record, the table where it's set up is glass and aluminum so it matches perfectly with the mac cinema as well; otherwise master jobs would have me and my wife's head and drink our blood to fight off his cancers and his demons as a result of selling his soul for his success. So successful that his coffer's are fuller than that of the US governments. For shame! / end random rant.

Today I cleaned and regreased my soma and then put it back together. clearance issues are gone (though still close!), but truly, wtf. Everything was as tight as hell when taking it apart and was riding on it fine for months and then that. Hope it doesn't happen again
then I flipped the stem on my leader (so it rises now), losing 25pts of street cred in the process, I'm hoping because it's a short stem that the hipsters will have mercy and only dock me 10. also noticed I rode the last 10 miles (thought I had a wobbly crank for a second) or so of my ride yesterday with the loosest chain known to man. Something about these allen wrench tightened hubs and me keeping the chain tight and the wheel even, I don't know I'm RET-ARD or something, though as mentioned, LBS guy did the same sh~t when putting it on too.

Today I went for a ride for the first time in over 4 weeks, since I broke my collarbone. Collarbone feels better, the rest of me has atrophied. My left clavicle is still not fully healed, not sure if I can flip my messenger bag (chrome) over to my right shoulder for the commute. Thoughts?

Adventures of the weekend. Midnight Ridazz style. Friday Night started off wild with one of the last "F-Rides" LA is to see, a first friday of the month ride lead by our favorite resident dbag, hipster, bike scum and generally decent guy. Normally wild as hell, this was no different, except I got home before sunrise. Saturday I chilled out, played video games, slept and then mad the dash to the westside for FMLY which made a run into Inglewood. Terrible terrible idea, both stops were busted by the cops. The first time they asked us to leave city limits. The second time they escorted us. We lost a good part of the ride but somehow managed to find the last 2 music stops.
We had several fire spinners on the ride which was awesome especially at music stops. I talked to one guy about fire spinning and now today I'm off to the westside again to bbq, watch people spin fire, then head to my good friends bday party. I'm stoked.

Today I:
1. Mowed the yard for the first time in five weeks. That unusually wet Spring is a distant memory in this hot and dry Summer.
2. Worked on my vintage Ron Stout build. Got as far as test riding on the rollers and making initial adjustments. Still trying to figure out the best brake lever position on the mustache bars. Still waiting for brake calipers and fenders. This one is a keeper .
FWIW, I have an Intel X25-M in my netbook, mainly for battery life but also good for quick resume from sleep .

Netbook make and model? Difference in battery life gained? Seriously, I have a aspire one d250 with extended life battery which lasts for 6 hours; have been wondering what's the most I can squeeze out of it. Nonetheless I don't think the differnce in battery consumption between already energy efficient 5400 rpm HDD (vs a typical 7200 rpm) and a SSD is much...

Today I swam some more laps (suprise suprise) and then had donuts. After that I came home, had lunch. It's too ******* hot to ride today and storms are in the forecast for the next 2 days. Gotta love it.

Fresh Garbage
So many sqrls at the co-op that I can't flirt with. I realized I have a thing for small girls, is this related to my height or too much Lord Of The Rings? Having a girlfriend sucks
