Steel frame Bianchi Eros, with Deore?
There's someone local selling a Bianchi Eros, but it has a Deore Triple, Shimano looking dual pivots, and I think Deore RD. The only info I can find on the model at all says Campy components? Did someone swap all the Campy stuff out to climb hills better? It's supposedly from Reno, where it was stored unridden for several years. What gives?,,,,BD

If he bought it on CL, he might have stripped and sold the Campy stuff to pay for the bike. Not a bad plan.

It depends on the year of the Eros. the first one was a Suntour bike with a double, but the next year '91 I think they got shimano with a triple, a combo of RX100 with deore crank and RD. I think is the later ;90s they went to Campi but it really depends on the year. that is not to say someone did not change it around.
I wish the pics were better buit I think this is the '91 with shimano. those 90 degree stems were nice too

I am thinking it is a Japanese made model now. Tubing is Tange "superset 2". That and the Shimano leads me to believe it is. The Deda tubed frame I sold also said Superset 2. Did they just put that on anything that wasn't Columbus?,,,,BD

Sounds just like mine! It's not super-lightweight, but the gearing has been adequate for all but adding speed over ~35MPH. I wish more catalog scans were available online so the components thing weren't such a mystery. According to BikePedia, they switched from Shimano to Campy around 1995.
