Yeah I'm wondering if there's some "long stem" joke going back with him I don't get. He basically wants a 140mm stem on every bike

You do realize that any stem under 90mm is highly unusual for a road bike and hints at the bike not fitting properly?

The fact that you have a really short stem and the seat pressed forward suggests that your bike is at least one size too big for you.

I do realize, it's the reason why I've talked about how this frame is too big and why it's for sale in the marketplace. I'm referring to the 90-130mm stems that she's posted need to be longer.

I'm no expert on fit, but i find the stem is too short thing relative, same goes for saddle too far forward. The saddle slammed forward w/ a 80mm stem and 6"+ of drop is kinda extreme....but what if you're like me and have the legs of a 6'1-6'2 person and im 5'10. Besides looking for frames that will allow a better fit and at most, you'll get a 57 ST and 55 TT. Other than that, running a stem over 90mm for me is pretty damn stretched out. Yes, you could bring the stem up and closer, but then i feel like I'm riding a damn beach cruiser.

what does one do?

Get a bike with a top tube that fits, then raise the seatpost and put headset spacers under the stem if necessary.

Wouldn't the same be suggested for a 130mm stem as to a 70mm stem too (in a flip flop sort of way)? If your stem is 130mm, wouldn't that suggest your TT is too short and you're riding a bike that's too small for you (and even that's too short of a stem for adriano!)

speaking of course for the type of riding this 'community' does
