I have a feeling Ontario will start at Citizens Bank Arena!!
Palmdale to Big Bear should be pretty Epic as well! Especially if they take 138 across the 15 to Silverwood Lake, to the 18

Awesome we will get to see the riders twice this year in the IE. I dont like the Big Bear finish as it is too flat (maybe they can fix that) but Baldy will be epic once again!

Since they are coming from Ontario, I wonder if they are going to approach Baldy from the Upland side and go straight up Euclid Ave, this would be great for spectators to come out and watch the beginning of the stage..

Wonder where l'Etape will be held?
Baldy was harrrd this year, and I'm looking forward to getting within the top 100 next year!

I'm surprised they included that again, that was one of the least decisive mountain stages I've ever seen. 10k+ vertical and a bunch sprint? Give me a break.

Maybe they can finish at onyx summit instead of in town.

i'm expecting them to start somewhere around the mills/citizens bank area, though the actual route is going to interesting, since the stage will have an additional 10 miles. I would LOVE to see them ride up Euclid, there are some seriously steep ramps on that side of the climb.
hopefully they will do the l'etape again...i got top 100, and i've gained way more fitness over the past 6 months than i had at the time. then again, the pros finished the stage nearly an hour ahead of the fastest amateurs.
which is why they're following it up with baldy, aka the queen stage.

Yeah back to back even though it suits spritners that can hang on it will make Baldy that much more difficult.

Come up to Bakersfield for the ITT. It will be an exciting course with plenty of great viewing areas to watch the riders show case their talents. If they use Bakersfield College, as planned for at this time, it has nice lawn areas with trees for relaxing, a great area for the festival (which looks like it will be covered) and excellent parking for both the teams and the spectators.

Just glad they are not having the itt out where the state RR championships are usually held. Was whining about not having Solvang this year but sounds like this could possibbly be nice venue in Bakersfield.

san diego county not seeing the forest for the trees sounds familiar. heaven forbid we close some roads for a few hours and bring a few tourists in to add some $$ to the local economies.
as for some of the fans dressing a tad scantily and skankily, san diego co. is hardly the lone exception. bad taste is, unfortunately, more universal than many of us would like.
tis a shame...they could construct some beautiful/monster stages in the area. there's a lot more than the south grade of palomar to offer.
i'd like to think there's always next year but with the transitory whimsical nature of funding/sponsorship, you just never know.

I read somewhere that the expense for road closures and security exceeded the revenue generated for S.D. and therefore they had no interest in hosting the ATOC.

I'm surprised they are using Mt. Baldy for a finish again since I heard that stage was a real money-loser for the ATOC.
Money aside (can I say that?), I love the Mt. Baldy climb, Mt. Baldy Road, GMR/GRR, etc. so I'm all happy they're using it again in 2012!
I really like the Big Bear finish too, and I'm hoping they go to Onxy Summit; even though I doubt it since there just isn't enough room for everything they need, finish-line wise, at the summit.

I hang my head even deeper in shame.
Reckon we're a bunch of Bhorat-bikini wearin', tobacco-spittin', no-Grand-Tour appreciatin' sons-of-our-own-uncles down these Southern parts. (Dad-burned revenooers.)

Does anyone know if the videos that they sell on the AMGEN website are full coverage ?
The versus coverage was ok, but I would love to have the full stage baldy finish.

dunno about the vids they sell, but the amgen live tracker (or whatever it's called) provides excellent coverage (video, gps tracking, map, chat, and other features) if you can be around your computer during the race. and from that, i would assume the vids they sell are pretty good production
