If you got sick feeling after your ride you need to change what you are doing. Especially since you are only riding 30 mile rides.
I used to get a fever during the night after I rode a few 60+ mile rides. I couldn't understand what was causing it but it was a high fever that just spiked along with nausea and chills. Very disturbing.
I changed some things that I do during the ride. Instead of just taking off, I eat more now before I leave for long rides. I drink more and stop occasionally too. The biggest thing I changed is that I now also take a break and EAT SOMETHING after 50 miles or so. Warm down at the end too. Then there's my post ride routine before I shower and eat before bed.
I can ride 100 miles now and there's no fever or ill feeling after the ride. Just because of the changes I made for during the ride. So, if you are having this type of problem you need to do a couple of things.
One is that you need to slow down and build a better set of muscles and a cardio/pulmonary fitness level. Another is that you need to TRAIN and not just bomb along out there. As you are finding out, being young doesn't make you indestructible and what worked for an hours worth of exercise in school doesn't work for 3 hours of hard effort on a bike. Another thing to learn is that you need to understand about nutrition and the difference between food and fuel and hydration. Finally, life is not a contest. There are no prizes, no ribbons, and no trophies for being hardcore or a badass.

The funny part is this troll is building posts and testing the waters here in the SoCal forum and then when he's got 500 posts or so under his belt he'll venture on over to the Road Cycling forum and test out his skillset there. He won't look like a five-post troll with a month under his belt. He made a brief journey into that forum last week and it didn't go over too well.
But be certain that's his overall goal.
